[When the feed starts, Elizabeth is right in the center of the frame, dressed in her uniform, giving off a very formal but pleasant attitude. She practiced this. Several times.]
Good morning, everyone. For those of you who I haven't met yet, my name is Elizabeth DeWitt, head librarian. Recently, I was promoted by our captains to the position of First Mate, meaning I have taken on additional responsibilities to the crew aside from encouraging everyone to visit the library and make use of the collection. [Little plug there, forgive her.]
As First Mate, I'll be acting as a liaison between the crew and the captains, should anyone have an issue they would feel more comfortable speaking to me about, or if the captains are off ship. Once I've moved in, my quarters will be located in Section M and I encourage anyone to find me there or at the library if you need me.
...I realize not all of us are happy to find ourselves here, however I am one of the potentially few who very easily call this ship my home. Whatever can be done to make things more efficient, safe, or comfortable, I want to discuss it. But, at the same time, if you just want a reading recommendation and some hot chocolate, I can provide that as well.
[She nods, clearly satisfied with the message and smiles, looking a little relieved that she got through the spiel without embarrassing herself.] I think that about wraps it up, but if there's anything else please feel free to message me. Thank you!

Robin scowls at her MID for a solid minute before she manages to smooth over her expression somewhat. When she turns on her own MID, she carries the expression of a curious child - her own distaste for everything about this situation well hidden beneath the surface.]
Hello. I'm Clover, I was just brought here a few days ago and I have a question?

Of course! I'll try to answer it as best I can, Clover.

[She suddenly feels weird about asking her for books on coffee.]
Congratulations! That's a big promotion.

Thank you Allison! I'll still be on the lookout for books that might help with your cafe though!

Uh, hey, congratulations, Liz. [He's uncertain, but he tries to keep it from coloring his tone too much. She really does seem excited about the promotion.]
So, do you feel like you trust them?
[So much for trying not to sound skeptical.]

My gut says yes. I've met a lot of awful people in my life, Ratchet, I think I can say that I know at least some of the hallmarks. But if I'm wrong... [She gives up on that train of thought.] I'm here for the crew, I can promise you that's all they asked of me and that's what I plan to do.

And also sunglasses. That'd definitely make me feel more comfortable. [The Ingress took his and he's slightly obsessed.]
no subject
Sunglasses? Ah, well, I can check to see what the Ingress has spat out recently, perhaps there's a pair in there. If all else fails I'll put in a supply request on Ceta and see if they can't help.

[ Well, mild sucking up in the hopes of eventually getting information seemed in order, actually. Natasha doesn't know what sort of relationship the others might have with this woman, but she's aiming for a good relationship with anyone who has power here. ]
My name's Natalie. I'm a new personal defense specialist.

[Sucking up? Totally fine-- though more or less unnecessary with her. Aside from more personal things, Elizabeth feels like it's her job to be transparent with the crew. Give them any information she can to make them feel more at ease with... whatever happens to be happening on the Moira.]

Hot chocolate, huh? Could do with a warm drink and something to read. [Might keep his mind off a few things right now.]
no subject
Certainly! I'm in the library now as a matter of fact, and I have a hot water kettle and these... packets of mix that apparently make hot chocolate. And tea, if you're more interested in that!

Thank you Lara. I am going to miss rooming with you-- oh! By the way, a stack of documents showed up at the library, and I started reading them before I realized some of them were marked as your journal entries...? I have them, I've kept them safe, I just didn't have a moment to message you before now.

I don't know that I can ever call this place home, I have people counting on me back home, but I could have ended up somewhere much worse.

[She has... suspicions that she knows who she's talking to, but she's not one-hundred percent sure just yet.]
Most everybody does. I'm going to do everything I can to make sure we get everyone home as soon as we can.

[Haha.... ouch.]
Well, 'in charge' is probably a little bit of an overstatement-- I'm a liaison between the crew and the captains, nobody wants me driving this ship.

[ Elsa offers up an encouraging smile. It's nice to hear some good news for once over the network! Even if it's about someone she hasn't met yet. ]
I'm Elsa. ...I was going to simply ask you a question about books when I first started this response, but I... Well, I do have a concern about the safety of the crew members when it comes to... --Myself, to be honest.
[ Oh dear, this is going much further than she intended it to when she first decided to respond. And she may be starting to regret it. This becomes clear on her face pretty quickly, and she glances downward awkwardly. ]
I know that sounds odd. And now I feel like this is really sudden to spring on you on a network post that should be full simply of congratulations and such. I'm sorry. Perhaps there would be a better time to discuss it...
no subject
Do you know where the library is? I don't have my quarters yet, however it's a quiet day today, we could have some tea and talk.
[Elizabeth is painfully familiar with the feeling of being a danger to people around her. If someone had offered to talk to her, it could have made her feel just a little less alone-- delaying that isn't something she wants to do to Elsa.]
Or hot chocolate, if you prefer.
