[When the feed starts, Elizabeth is right in the center of the frame, dressed in her uniform, giving off a very formal but pleasant attitude. She practiced this. Several times.]
Good morning, everyone. For those of you who I haven't met yet, my name is Elizabeth DeWitt, head librarian. Recently, I was promoted by our captains to the position of First Mate, meaning I have taken on additional responsibilities to the crew aside from encouraging everyone to visit the library and make use of the collection. [Little plug there, forgive her.]
As First Mate, I'll be acting as a liaison between the crew and the captains, should anyone have an issue they would feel more comfortable speaking to me about, or if the captains are off ship. Once I've moved in, my quarters will be located in Section M and I encourage anyone to find me there or at the library if you need me.
...I realize not all of us are happy to find ourselves here, however I am one of the potentially few who very easily call this ship my home. Whatever can be done to make things more efficient, safe, or comfortable, I want to discuss it. But, at the same time, if you just want a reading recommendation and some hot chocolate, I can provide that as well.
[She nods, clearly satisfied with the message and smiles, looking a little relieved that she got through the spiel without embarrassing herself.] I think that about wraps it up, but if there's anything else please feel free to message me. Thank you!

Oh! Perhaps, if you wouldn't mind. I'd...rather not be interrupted, if possible.
[ Though it hasn't worked terribly well so far, she is still trying to keep her abilities, and moreso, her troubles with them, quiet across the ship. She doesn't want anyone to be able to walk in and hear her admitting to her fears about them. ]
Not that I want to keep anyone from the library, of course, but... It is something I'd rather the whole ship not know.
[ She smiles again with weak amusement, her hands balling up unconsciously in her lap. ]

Truth be told, I'd rather the whole ship not hear about why I can empathize with your desire to keep your abilities on the down low. It's a sensitive issue for me as well, but... being forthcoming sounds like a good idea in your case.

[ Elsa's not surprised--she got that feeling while they were talking over the network--but to hear Elizabeth admit it aloud... Well, she wasn't expecting it. However, it does make her more comfortable with the idea of talking to her about this. Even if she's thus far unsure of how exactly the other woman can relate. ]
But-- Yes, I think it needs to be discussed with someone who can perhaps help me...keep the rest of the crew safer.
[ Okay. It's time to actually talk about it. Discuss her situation and perhaps make her request. Elsa hesitates here for a moment, but presses on. ]
You see, I have these powers... The ability to create and control snow and ice. However, it's... It's not something I have very strong control over, and I have a tendency to make things happen without meaning to. In most cases, it's emotion based.
What concerns me is that I may accidentally harm other crew members. --It's... It's something that's happened back at home. I worry particularly about my roommates. One of them is able to put a ward around me to keep any magic from affecting the rest of the room, but I worry about that failing, or her not being around to put it up for some reason.
Essentially...I'm a danger to everyone here, possibly even the ship itself, and I... I'm rather at a loss for what to do.

I wonder if we could work with Doctor Banner. Perhaps he can create some kind of personal device that could diffuse or contain your ability on your command, instead of having to rely on another person to be around. I imagine if someone can do it independently, there's a way to replicate it scientifically.
[She's of course thinking of her own leash, but something less forced. Geared more towards accident-prevention than containment.]

I suppose that might be possible. Though I'm not certain that magic can always be replicated scientifically. --Not that I would really know anything about that.
[ It's just an assumption, but she's not even entirely sure what the science here is truly capable of. Maybe it can replicate magic, including Rosethorn's wards. It may be worth a try, though she doesn't want to bother Bruce with more work. ]
He's helping me already, actually. Bru-- Er, Doctor Banner. He's been teaching me meditative exercises to help control my emotions. It's something that I want to keep doing, so perhaps one day I can be the one controlling my powers, but some assistance until then...may be a good idea.
[ Although it's clear in her face that she's uncertain, and not entirely fond of the idea of having something else controlling her--even if it would be safer. ]
