Good morning, everyone. For those of you who I haven't met yet, my name is Elizabeth DeWitt, head librarian. Recently, I was promoted by our captains to the position of First Mate, meaning I have taken on additional responsibilities to the crew aside from encouraging everyone to visit the library and make use of the collection. [Little plug there, forgive her.]

As First Mate, I'll be acting as a liaison between the crew and the captains, should anyone have an issue they would feel more comfortable speaking to me about, or if the captains are off ship. Once I've moved in, my quarters will be located in Section M and I encourage anyone to find me there or at the library if you need me.

...I realize not all of us are happy to find ourselves here, however I am one of the potentially few who very easily call this ship my home. Whatever can be done to make things more efficient, safe, or comfortable, I want to discuss it. But, at the same time, if you just want a reading recommendation and some hot chocolate, I can provide that as well.

[She nods, clearly satisfied with the message and smiles, looking a little relieved that she got through the spiel without embarrassing herself.] I think that about wraps it up, but if there's anything else please feel free to message me. Thank you!

Robin scowls at her MID for a solid minute before she manages to smooth over her expression somewhat. When she turns on her own MID, she carries the expression of a curious child - her own distaste for everything about this situation well hidden beneath the surface.]

[ Well, mild sucking up in the hopes of eventually getting information seemed in order, actually. Natasha doesn't know what sort of relationship the others might have with this woman, but she's aiming for a good relationship with anyone who has power here. ]

[Wanda's smile is warm - whatever doubts she has, she knows what this must mean to her friend.]

I'm still figuring this place out, but the library has been a great help. My brother and I are probably there a little too much, really.

[ he pauses a moment, considering the hours he and Al have put in that place alone -- it's probably a gross amount. ]

I don't know that I can ever call this place home, I have people counting on me back home, but I could have ended up somewhere much worse.

[ Oh dear, this is going much further than she intended it to when she first decided to respond. And she may be starting to regret it. This becomes clear on her face pretty quickly, and she glances downward awkwardly. ]

I know that sounds odd. And now I feel like this is really sudden to spring on you on a network post that should be full simply of congratulations and such. I'm sorry. Perhaps there would be a better time to discuss it...
