Adrien had intended to send this out as a text, but he was still getting used to the new TABs and upon realizing his mistake, couldn't be arsed to change it. The doctor usually looks harried, it might have something to do with his perpetual scowl, but he's looking particularly yanked through a knothole backwards at the moment.

All the way down to the fact that he's obviously showered and made an attempt to trim his beard, only to wind up cutting himself. Please ignore the tell tale little dots of paper stuck to his face at the moment. The blade was dull, okay?! ]

It dawned on me, as these things do when one is slicing their face open with a razor, a question that probably should have been asked a week or so ago.

Those of you in the crew, who are capable of, or posses magical abilities and of a temperament to help, would you have a spell or a ... [ here he gestures with his hands, he's not trying to be offensive, magic is just not something his world has ever been exposed too and he's only aware that it can be vary from person to person. ] ... that would purify water?

Thinking if that ability exists, we might give it a try on those purple streams and see if we can remove some of the nasty side-effects and restock our supplies.

Assuming the effects are, themselves, magical, it might be worth attempting to dispel them. But it's rather a moot point, considering that magic can't be cast here. Correct me, though, if anyone with a different source is still able to use it.

Being that Adrien was about as baseline human as you could get, the loss of powers and abilities hadn't affected him.

Which is another way of saying; he hadn't thought about that. ]

Call me perpetually optimistic. [ No one, in their right mind would call him optimistic, perpetual or otherwise. ] But I thought it couldn't hurt to ask. I'm afraid my experience with magic is extremely limited. I only know what I've seen used around me by a wide range of users. It's never seemed as if any one law applied.

[ Though Adrien was used to sharing a face with another individual, he'd done so a couple of times to date, he had never had the pleasure of meeting a Kurt. So he wasn't aware that Kurt might have more reason than most to be temporarily bemused.

This did mean that the conversation rolled along as it normally would, with the doctor nodding and seeming ready to dismiss the comment, only to pause. ]

What services might those be?

[ Despite the perpetual scowl on his face, the question is asked with genuine curiosity. While it would probably help if he properly introduced himself and went through proper introductions, Adrien tended to jump right into the middle of a conversation and run with it. ]

I'll keep that in mind, but I should make it clear that my level of fucks on that point are fairly low.

[ Meaning it would probably slip his mind to even test for that. If this hairbrain idea even bears out fruit. ]

The water is clear and ordinary, pouring straight out of the rocks in the cave wall, illuminated by Ronan's flashlight.]

It's an improvement on the purple. Though it would still have to be tested. Did you locate that stream as is, or has someone affected it?

Haven't been thirsty. [ Please, he's military and medical. The only reason he didn't pack a kitchen sink was because he couldn't get the nuts unscrewed. ]

This is merely looking towards a desire to keep it that way without having to deal with bouts of lethargy after the fact.

I'm asking about the possibility of clean water that doesn't have odd side effects and ... you question the little paper bandages on my face?

I know the standard ways of purifying water, but I can't guarantee that it will completely clean this out.

I know how to construct a solar still but I'd need help, and from there I would need charcoal filtration.

So it's not a one-man job but even without magic, it can be done to some extent. Do you know what's causing the side-effects?

I have to admit, Miller I haven't had the time to break out the equipment and try to run a full spectrum analysis on the stuff. There is also the small challenge of power to that equipment; it really hasn't been a priority.

[ He reached up and scrubbed at his face, an action that saw him wincing a moment later as he pulled off some of the bandages. ]

If we come up blank with a magical approach...

[ In all honesty, he probably would regardless but it was that little 'yeah' at the end that annoyed him. Not that it took all that much to annoy the doctor.

As for the razors.

It was actually possible for Adrien's expression to become even less impressed. Seriously, he worked at it to have this much of a bitchy stare. ]

I could show you how to use some of the larger scalpels as a straight razor if you'd like, as well. Steady hands and a bit of patience goes a long way.
