[voice] - let hope burn in your eyes
[Locked to all characters remaining on the ship; backdated to the 18th.]
I'd like to speak with anyone who's interested in coordinating a structured response to the recent disappearances. If we pool our resources in terms of anything technical that needs to be done, and in terms of things like creating small teams and scheduling the usage of rescue vehicles, things will probably run more smoothly. Retrieving as many people as possible is of paramount importance.
Those of you who have experience in search and rescue, on-the-ground stealth, investigation, intelligence work, and programming and electronics would probably be the most useful… but if that doesn't include you, and you're interested, there should certainly still be a way for you to help. I realize that many of you probably already have ideas about how to proceed, but it couldn't hurt to discuss them so that we don't interfere with each other.
To begin with: if you're able to make contact with anyone who's missing, see if they can capture and send some images of their general surroundings -- but only if they can do so without being seen and can preferably send the results privately. Having that kind of information ahead of time could be overwhelmingly valuable.
Let's do whatever we can.

audio;
I could do a lot more with even basic maps of these places.

How long would it take you to work on the preliminary aspects of your program? Everything up to the maps.

I need a list of everyone who’s gone missing. Once I have that, I’ll try and get it done as soon as possible. [He considers what exactly "as soon as possible" means. it’s not like he’ll be starting from scratch. The MIDs already come with basic tracking and routing programs for crewmembers on the ship. He’ll just need to integrate them into something that can track crewmember locations relative to the MIDs themselves.] A day, at most. [It's a chancy estimate, but he plans to hold himself to it all the same.]

They took my brother.

Your brother?
[To his knowledge, Simon Tam is not currently on the Moira... but there are any number of reasons not to specifically mention him to River.]

[ Or the closest she has on board besides Wanda. She's not too pleased with the thought that someone might be treating him as a slave. It's uncivilized. ]

How many people can your ship hold?

You mentioned languages that might help if you were air-dropped into a country. I don't think the languages will be a factor here, but the ability to blend in might be.

[As a thief, he kinda needs to be, but like hell he's saying that out loud.]

all voice on his end, btw! whoops!
[That's an understatement, but his tone remains smooth and businesslike.]
How do you get into places you shouldn't be? Some people can pick locks, some can walk through solid objects... tell me privately, if you need to.
hah! charlie'll respect it and switch to private voice:

She doesn't have what it takes to follow in her father's footsteps. She doesn't really seem to have any gifts of any kind - she doesn't even have a goal to work toward. The technology here is way beyond her, so she can't help with that. She's a rank newbie when it comes to fighting, as the incident earlier in the month proved.
What is she good at?]
...I don't know, but I want to help anyway.
[That's the best she's got. Hopefully it's enough.]

[There's a pause before he continues, as he tries to think of something for someone to do whose strengths he doesn't know. The obvious solution is to attempt to assess them himself, if he can.]
Will you meet me for coffee? I may be able to suggest something.

I'm really good with vehicles. You want off that planet, I can be one of the guys that help. We can handle the transports and ah... I'm not afraid of borrowing a few rides from down there.
[Those thief skills gotta come in handy at some point.]

[It's an acknowledgement, and L's voice is a little warmer than the businesslike tone he's been using in most other conversations so far. He's pleased that Niko is available and interested: everything he's seen so far suggests that the other man might be a valuable connection.]
That's an excellent idea. Anything borrowed... temporarily or permanently... will have to be checked from top to bottom for trackers, however. We wouldn't want to lead their owners here.
[If the area is as bad as the captains claim, it seems likely that the "owners" may have acquired vehicles in exactly the same way.]
Who are you planning to retrieve?
