Hi all — Shepard here, just a quick couple of questions.

First, I know the mail system can be all over the place, so I wanted to reach out to everyone. Last month, I received this-- [And here, she holds up a hypospray with this label affixed to it. She rotates it slowly, showing off the entire label as she speaks.] --in my mailbox. Not sure what kind of medicine it is, but if you know, or know who it belongs to, please let me know as soon as possible.

Second, I wanted to ask about the Ingress. From what I've read and been told, it opens once every month, at the beginning of that month. Now, I've only been here a month — can anyone with more experience tell me if it's normal or not that it hasn't opened by now?

For use in sedation and hypnosis... wonder if that's a polite way of saying "interrogation".

So are you going to keep it in case of an emergency? Because if so I'd read up on proper usage. There's not exactly restrictions pertaining to drug possession on this ship.

[As much as it pains her to admit this:] You're right. [She should get over herself.] Six full months here and this is the first month it hasn't opened. We don't seem to have picked up any new crew out of the Ingress on the planet, either.

When you came in through the planetary Ingress for your arrival, did the Ingress on the ship open as well?

I think so. There were definitely some new people around who hadn't seen the planet until they went down there.

[Well, she's not a chemist, so have fun with your new drugs, Shepard. But:] Ahh, about the Ingress? I've been trying to do some repairs on it the past month. I'm still trying to figure out what I did, but I think I might have done something?

That's one reason I can think of that it might have stopped bringing people - that I've been working on it. Or it could be the proximity to the other Ingress - on at least one planet we've been to, I think the Ingress on the planet brought people, not the one on board. I was wondering if they had some kind of reaction to one another.

I wonder. I... well, I mean, my duplicate, mentioned that she'd arrived through a planetary Ingress. With how much energy they have to be expending, maybe two in nearby proximity distort each other's fields? [Definitely talking shit.]

Well, that's what I was trying to do. I was trying out a couple of things I thought might at least stabilise it.

If it starts up again when we leave, though, it's probably just the Ingress here throwing it off.

It does seem...coincidental that what was once an almost routine one could use as a reference of time passing has suddenly stopped being so since we arrived here. Granted I have only a few extra months of being here for comparison, but things like that don't just decide to have an off day so to speak. Unless we can find archival records of arrivals and departures to compare, for all we know it's a predestined time when there is no new arrivals for a certain time or if this is permanent.

[She taps her chin, thoughtful.] Wonder what kind of readouts our onboard Ingress would provide. I heard someone mention that this planetary one has readable records available, if you ask its keeper nicely.

And there is our dilemma out in the open. Our captains tend to be a bit tight lipped and fisted in regards to knowledge regarding our Ingress. Granted, if someone who has a bit more charisma with any of them wish to try I would cheer them on heartily.

As far as I've heard and read, the Ingress has never failed to open like this.

[Nihlus is quietly hoping this isn't the precursor to some kind of horrific system failure that'd lead them all to fiery explodey death. He doesn't say that on an open network post, though.]

About the Ingress, no, it's not normal. I've been here several months and it's always opened like clockwork.
