I cannot speak of experience in my time here, but may I ask if this is about Genji?
[ The log of network users was showing him as departed and she hasn't seen him of late, after all, and this was not a large enough ship to have not run into him for a couple of weeks. While she may not have told Hanzo that she knew who he was, this reply leaves no doubt and she only hopes he will take it in stride.
The possibility of information on Genji outweighs that of her delicacy for her fledgling relationship with Hanzo. He wouldn't know her well enough to gauge her worry in this matter, but it is significant for her to put such a blunt question forward. ]
I am so sorry, Hanzo. He never passed through the medbay or the cryo chamber. I have only heard of people returning home safely time and again, and that some even return.
If it would not be an inconvenience to you, I would like to hear any information you may glean as well. Genji is a very dear friend of mine and I will offer the same in return.
[ After a few moments, another message follows: ]
I've not seen you around since we arrived; has everything been all right?
No way to know for certain, though I would think if he left the ship willingly he might have had the captains remove his MID. So that it wouldn't be tracking him and he wouldn't be registered to crew anymore.
So if they don't have record of him going, it was probably him disappearing.
[She didn't really know Hanzo that well, in fact Pharah had originally passed over this post until she noticed some of her family had replied, and took the time to read through it. Realizing they were referring to Genji brought a pull in her gut; She hadn't gotten a lot of time to hang out with him, here, but he was a pleasure to be around.]
I am sorry for your loss. Genji was such a pleasant individual, I will miss having him here. At the very least, I'm happy to know he's at home and helping the people there.
As far as I can recall, it seems that when I left the ship I returned exactly where I was before I found myself here.
[ She isn't unkind enough (without cause) to advance her second theory: that she might not have made it home, and went somewhere else she has no memory of instead. ]

They either go back through the Ingress or they leave the ship because they refused their contract. Those are the only explanations.

Because you were told or because of experience?

I thought this was a comment on a specific person potentially hiding. Sorry if I misinterpreted.

But if it really is that unreliable, then that is possible.

Is this hiding thing something that happens a lot?

He is a trained assassin. It is simply plausible, albeit highly unlikely
Especially if I were to look for him

[Not exactly the response she was expecting, but then she did go into it without introduction.]
Forgive me, I am Pharah. I am a friend of Genji's
