I've not had the chance to bring it up. However, a while ago I added some competitive programs to the training simulation room. They're meant to give people another healthy outlet for conflict and hostile energy as well as improve skills as matched by an opponent.
There are several games as well as the option to customize your own. There are also two settings. One "honest" where cheating will absolutely not be tolerated. One "deceptive" where cheating is so long as the AI referees don't catch you and you don't cause serious harm to your opponent. Surprisingly, both have their merits.
This is also a reminder that you can get hurt in there. It is possible, so ask a Med Bay staff member if to come along if necessary.
That said, I'd like to speak to someone on the medical staff if you have the time. At least I'll have a better idea of who people can request aid from while I'm at it. But I understand with recent changes you might have to wait.

[He holds up the hand to look through it, and both at Andyr, and then ahead of him into the simulation.]
Yeah. Similar to what's in here. The finger portions are still clear. Still trying to finalize the design. Right now, it's modeled to be a mirror to my left arm.
[He holds the hands together, real and false, for Andyr to see.] As long as it lets me feel, that's good enough for me. My one requirement.

Watching Miller head into the simulation, Andyr's glancing one way and the other, like he's not sure what to do, before pacing in along with him. Why not. Lifting his eyes, he skims along the interior of the room, looking back to the arm held up again. ] Never really thought about how it worked. Seems cool.
So you can still fight with that? [ after all, the sims are real enough to give the full combat experience, so if it's the same tech, it should work, right? despite the time he's from, Andyr's more clueless on technology than anything else. ]

I'm not going to go into direct combat, that's a waste of energy. Instead I'm going to use stealth and hunt down all the combatants one by one.
[He pulls out the blade that Rinzler gave him.]
I usually prefer non-lethal when possible, since survivors can give you important information.

You and I come from very different places.
[ stealth, the luxury of having the option for it, non-lethality and holding people for information. then again, he was leader of a military force, so that all makes sense. it just isn't anything he has any kind of experience in. ]

[He's only had to act as support during fights with giant robots, lucky for him. But even that experience is of value.]
The program will ignore you. You can go wherever you like. Until then...
[Kaz grabs a pair of binoculars from under the console, meant to mark enemies as much as they are to see distances, and enters the room. It's daylight; a challenging time, so he'll have to be more careful than usual.]
[Any practice at this rate is good practice.]

[ which could either mean it’s boring, or it’s really horrible. Unfortunately, it’s the latter, but andyr’ll probably leave out the details unless prompted for them.
He gives a short nod, signalling he understands, and watches a Miller sets to work, closely observing what all he picks up or gets to. How he moves, what he’s looking at, the process of it, as he thinks on trying to learn this later. While it isn’t the norm for him, it doesn’t hurt to train it.
The idea of having another coach or trainer, though, sits oddly with him. It’s been ages since he’d been in any kind of formal training program, and back then, it was always his dad. However, Miller seems more interested in giving advice rather than anything more personal, so maybe it won’t feel that weird. ]

[As he goes he collects their weapons (holographic though these be, they'll work on the sprites.]
[When he finds who he's looking for, he's surround by three people. So he goes back for one of the bodies he just made, picks up, and throws it out into the open from the side of a building. That breaks the group up- an alert going up to hunt for an intruder at the same time, but Kaz has been marking people. He can keep track of them on his MID.]
[After that, the target only has one person with him. Easy enough to shoot that one person with him, and while the target is bringing up his gun, to steal it away from him and butt him in the face with it. Kaz grabs that one, chokes him unconscious, and hefts him up on his shoulders.]
[The next ones are still taken down one at a time. He has to put down his target, sneak up and take down whoever's in his way with ruthless CQC or with the occasional shot when he needs a dropped body to draw the attention of the person he's about to attack. By the time he makes it back to Andyr he's cleaned out the area of about twenty five people, puts down the sprite he was meant to pull out of the area, and checks his watch.]
[He could have been better with being noticed.]
Not very showy. But I wasn't wearing body armor and I got out without a scratch or losing the upper hand. I would do front line conflict differently.

He came from a military family, son of a Marine spec ops officer and secondly a martial arts school owner, and it's easy for him to fall back into the role of student, when he wants to. It's a measure surprising, really, how easy he finds it, after six and a half years of feeling barely human. while he'd been taught plenty by his father, andyr's by no means a soldier (his dad hadn't wanted him to be), but a quick study he is, and if nothing else, the years in hapsburg taught him to be observant of every last detail.
the man is absolutely skilled in covert operations, and andyr's wondering if perhaps he should try learning more about stealth. there's cameras everywhere in the Houses, but maybe he could learn ways around them. make sabotage and escape a measure easier than just cutting through floods of guards.
when Miller gets back to him, Andyr's crouched down, with forearms rested on bent knees, looking down at the sprite. ]
Maybe not, but damn impressive. Wouldn't mind seeing what frontline conflict looks like some day, though. [ not necessarily now, he'd just gotten done with an intense mission. ]

[Maybe it's better that frontline combat waits for a bit, though. He still flinches at the sounds of sniper rifles. The thinks it won't affect having a gun in his hands, his ability to fight, but he can imagine how he'd feel after the adrenaline wore off. Probably means he should put some extra focus in that for himself in the meantime.]
Understandably, I never saw actual combat my entire time in the JSDF. It was after I started to travel that I found the battlefield.
[His introduction to it hadn't been pretty. A slaughter that left him the only coveted survivor.]
Been doing it since.
[He doesn't know what that makes him. Not good, certainly. He wants to believe there's a difference between cold blooded killers and warriors, men that choose to pick up weapons and go against each other. But it's a fine line, and he knows it.]
Come in sometime and let me run a simulation while I'm watching you. I'd like to get some idea of your skill set.

JSDF - Japanese, right? Sorry, I never been outside New Orleans.
[ And there is a bit of an accent sticking to his words, urban but a bit southern. He isn't as educated about international military set ups, as his dad had tried to keep him mostly away from those things, but he knows some just from school. Enough to recognize.
As for showing him his own skill set, after watching Kaz go through his mission, Andyr's a bit jazzed. ]
I can do it now, if you're not busy. Got nowhere better to be. [ Honestly, he's likely to hang around and run a sim either way, given he's a little worked up now, and keeping that pent up has never been good for him, and could be disastrous on this ship.] Probably nothing stealth, though, I'm not great at it.
[ his combat scenarios have all be very, very specific in circumstance in the last six and a half years, and before that, all he knew were martial arts tournaments. not the best resume, but he's at least very good at this one thing he does. ]

[Other than some hints behind those glasses and smaller health/physical things, it's very hard to tell he's anything other than American.]
How about I run an evaluation.
Enclosed spaces? Battlefield? Weapon preferences?
[He asks as he heads over to the console.]

Though, on the topic of what setting he’s suited to, it’s very hard not to go straight to the Houses, as that’s where near all of his real combat experience comes from. ]
Enclosed space, building interior like hallways, no weapons.
[ he supposed clubs, tasers or tranq guns would make sense, but that’s getting more specific than he wants. And he’d rather not have an Episode right now by getting too accurate. ]
Enemy swarms, keep ‘em coming. [ he’s used to starting with a group, with more groups on their way. ]
