Voice
[His voice is a little shaky to start off, he's not that used to using the MID and he's still nervous talking to potential crowds. Addressing (potential) crowds is All Might's thing, not Izuku's.]
Hello, um- My name is Midoriya Izuku, I also go by Deku. I'm one of the personal defense specialists. [He says it, but he sounds a bit unsure, like he doesn't know if they picked the right guy for this job.]
I'm- I was in the hero course at U.A. High before I ended up here. [Now he sounds more confident.] I'm a hero in training.
As for personal defense, I focus on hand to hand. I have a pretty good range I can teach, I think. If you want to learn the basics, or somebody to spar with I can help with that. Or if you want scenarios to test yourself with I'll help create them for you.
Please let me know if you need anything. I'll be in the training simulation room.
Uh... Thank you for your time!

Action or assume?
Action sounds good
[He's already right outside of the room, staring at the console.]

Give me a few minutes.
[And Kaz shows up after a few minutes, two huskies in tow. One a pup, silvery colored, blue eyes. One with rust patches. The latter is especially wanting to stick close to him. Other than being followed by the two dogs, he's all business.]
no subject
At the sound of somebody walking over, he looks up.]
Hello. Are you Miller-san?
no subject
[The settings inside are mostly ones that he's gleaned from contents in the library and places they've been. The people are mostly species detailed similarly, though he thinks some might be about the accuracy of an ancient bestiary detailing the wonders of distant cultures from narrative alone.]
[Kaz is a big guy, a full 6'1'' even if his Boss is somehow taller. Barely Japanese in appearance at all with his blond hair and currently hidden blue eyes. But he still identifies with his country of birth.]
no subject
Um... I'm not really sure what most of these are. Or where these are.
[He hasn't exactly seen aliens before- or any kinds of exotic creatures beyond what you'd see in a zoo.
Izuku is not even close to that big, he looks a scrawny in his hero costume, and he's only 5'5" standing up straight.]
no subject
Most of these are pretty simple, already have settings programmed in. You can look up the information on any settings beside of it. Like ah...
[On the screen he brings up a map of a jungle, an overhead.]
Lets say I want someone to practice an aerial infiltration. So I'll make a tree village. [He scrolls through options, brings up a variety of tree houses, places some like one would would do in a game.] I want people to either avoid or combat, so... how about a carnivorous race.
[More choosing. And then he points at other settings.] Weather patterns. Temperature. Possible complications you can add like animal stampedes or insect swarms to keep people constantly adapting. Those are the more complicated runs.

Wow... That's amazing. We had places to practice simulations, but nothing this extensive. Usually it would be a disaster area that we'd practice moving around in.
This's definitely a good way to get practice in before anything happens.
no subject
It's also actually dangerous. People can get hurt in there.
no subject
Adaptation is something that can't be sacrificed.
If people do get hurt is there a way to turn it off, or should I just go in and get them?
no subject
But otherwise, some people choose to muscle through some injuries and we have a decent Med Bay. So usually I trust their judgement. It's why I encourage doctors and medics to accompany people going into higher risk simulations, though. Or I opt to turn it off myself. MIDs record vitals, so you can watch for spikes in those.
[It hadn't helped John, though. Better not to think about that.]
Added bonus- you can make the program not aware of someone. So they can observe without being attacked while other people act. This is usually what I end up doing.
no subject
Alright. It's dangerous and for higher risk simulations I should advise them to bring somebody with medical skills with them. That's good to know.
Really? I think that's probably what I'd prefer too. I'd feel better if I had the option to help.
no subject
It helps to do better if someone acknowledges all of someone's hard work. Improving yourself even a little bit is never easy. Even harder if you're stuck in your ways.
[Though Kaz has resisted being as relentless here. He's Master Miller for a reason.]
no subject
That's what Aizawa-sensei does for us, so it makes sense that it would work for most people.
[Even if Aizawa is likely to trick them into it, he's still a good teacher and there's a lot he can learn from that.]
no subject
Give them something worth fighting for.
What else does he do that you think you can use?
no subject
He ran a bunch of challenges to test our abilities first, so we knew where our strengths were. After any training we did, he'd review it with us and mention the stuff we needed to improve on and what we did well.
no subject
Thing is, how good are you at looking for weaknesses in other's performances?
[Which is always the hard part. It's easy to push, easy to be impressed, and any skilled fighter can find holes in a style. But with some it's harder than others, requires a little more raw demonstration.]
no subject
I can usually find weakness when I'm against them, or fighting with them.
[He hasn't gotten that many opportunities to just sit on the sidelines and evaluate people.]
no subject
But some people might not want to fight someone as young as you. Still might need some outside help.
no subject
That's fine.
It'll be good practice to learn weaknesses when I'm not in the fight. Still, that could take a while to develop properly... Especially depending on how they fight, I'm used to quirks- or powers- and hand to hand. I wouldn't be very useful to somebody who wanted to learn how to shoot or use weapons...
[The mumbling will continue until Kaz interrupts him.]
no subject
They're pretty young too, in fact.
no subject
Um... who are they? I figure I should meet my... co-workers?
no subject
[He actually really wants people to communicate with each other. It's the best way to train people.]
