Hello, um- My name is Midoriya Izuku, I also go by Deku. I'm one of the personal defense specialists. [He says it, but he sounds a bit unsure, like he doesn't know if they picked the right guy for this job.]

I'm- I was in the hero course at U.A. High before I ended up here. [Now he sounds more confident.] I'm a hero in training.

As for personal defense, I focus on hand to hand. I have a pretty good range I can teach, I think. If you want to learn the basics, or somebody to spar with I can help with that. Or if you want scenarios to test yourself with I'll help create them for you.

Please let me know if you need anything. I'll be in the training simulation room.

I haven't used technology like this before, so if you could give me a quick run down that would be great.

[He's oddly happy at being called "Miller-san". In a tiny way it alleviates some of the homesickness. So he decides to speak Japanese after that, rather than English.]

It's pretty easy to use. There's a console screen that lets me put in details and difficulty levels for programs. Also the types of variations; no program runs the same way twice.

what do you do in a hero course

You do a lot of simulations, learn battle techniques and strategies- all on top of a regular high school education.

We were training for provisional hero licensing exam right before I came here.

Of course they do.

There's all kinds of quirks, some of them are more dangerous than others, if you want to use them professionally you have to get licensed.

Where I'm from, the use of the word 'hero' seems to imply someone working outside the bounds of the law. Like a vigilante. Someone who looks at the way the law is applied and doesn't agree with it.

If somebody tried that at home, they'd get arrested. 80 percent of the population have qu-- superpowers, so if people used them without proper training things could get really bad.

If they had powers I wonder how easy it would be to arrest them to begin with. It's an interesting question. But it's good people seek training instead.

It can be difficult, but heroes are trained for that. The point that a person says its it's impossible is where a hero steps in.

Not everybody wants to be a hero, and some powers aren't very destructive. My mom can pull small objects to her. I don't think anybody would get mad if she used it to catch falling groceries or something.

I've never fought a Cybertronian before, so that's probably for the best. Come down to the training room whenever you're ready.

And I never fought a human before! Okay, well, that's not true, I did fight this one guy in a wrestling match, but he had all these weird upgrades? Made him beef up and bigger than me! [he's not going to say that he lost that match. Nope.]

I'm not doing anything right now! And my T-Cog could seriously use a stretch. I'll be there soon!

[True to his word, Bumblebee doesn't take along to get to the training room. He spends a short moment looking around curiously--this was certainly fancier than any training facilities he's had in hundreds of years--and it takes him a moment to spot Deku, too distracted by all the small equipment.

He waves with a wide grin, revving his engines.] Hey dude! You ready to take on all of this raw cybertronian power?
