I have the capacity to synthesize some chemicals, but I need to know if I could get the raw materials necessary and what type of thing it is to see if I have the equipment for it. [His optics narrow, his voice going flat.]
Additionally, I'm a medical doctor. I can't, in good conscience, make something that's going to hurt people. I'll meet up with you if you want but I need to know what it's for before I take a crack at it.

I'm not sure what Hank uses to make it, I have a bit left. There's no harm to anyone on the ship with it, it's made specifically for my use. It's primary use is to treat a spinal injury but it also serves to suppress a specific gene in my DNA.

The more you can tell me about this stuff the easier it'll be for me to figure out how--and if--I can make it, but I get that it's private. I know you don't have a real good reason to trust me, but patient confidentiality definitely applies, if that helps at all.

Yeah? [Ratchet frowns a little, considering this.] I figure I'm 'not like you' enough that I'm likely to come around full circle. You have to understand, I have an extremely basic grasp of what 'genes' are, but I haven't got any--that's not really how we operate. Whatever you've got going on, I can almost guarantee you I've seen weirder. You won't shock me.
