I'm not sure there's a good way to start this. My name is Charles Xavier, I'm the ships newest Interpersonal Relationships Officer. [Joy.] Any others with the same job, I would appreciate being able to speak with you so we're on the same page.

[Introductions out of the way, his expression turns a little more serious.]

Aside from that, I'd like to speak to anyone that might be able to... replicate a serum. The details are something I would prefer to discuss in private but it's important to me that I find someone.

[He asks for precisely two reasons. One, because Billy will probably want to know, and two, because for a Xavier that's... more hair than he would have expected.]

Please don't call me that. [It's impulse to ask that. He doesn't feel much like a professor these days.] I used to, the school closed years ago.

I'm sorry, are you related to one of the students?

[He never was quite as up to date on his X-Men as he was his Avengers, except for that one very embarrassing time he might have offered to make Storm queen of Asgard- but that was a lifetime ago, and doesn't need remembering right now. Still, Xavier looks very young, so... a different point on the timeline, or a different world altogether?]

Ah- no, although I do know some people who know some people. It was mostly just to satisfy my own curiosity, in fact.

[He gives Xavier a very small smile.]

And on those lines, tell me- have you ever heard of the Avengers?

I am Charles Xavier though, the one you're thinking of, so at least your curiosity is sated. [He wouldn't exactly call himself young anymore but he's definitely younger than the Charles most people know.]

I can't say I've ever heard of the Avengers though. I haven't given much attention to what's been going on beyond the war over the past few years.

Mmm, I'm not sure you are, but- close enough, at least, that I can guess at what you might be able to do. I'd recommend not trying it on me, by the way.

[Not that he's easy to read to begin with, but just in case, a very polite warning not to try reading his mind.]

You'd have heard of them, if they existed in your slice of the universe, trust me. You'd probably have heard of me, too.

The name does seem like something that would grab attention.

Myths. Although I shouldn't be surprised, unless you chose that name.

I'm not quite that Loki, less Ragnarok involved these days- but I am Loki of Asgard, brother to Thor, as much as he may regret that fact occasionally.
