[Liquid's onscreen, and disgruntled as hell. Look out, incoming rant.]
So, how about, when we're assigned to our positions, we fill out a form or something where we can say, oh, I don't know, "yes, I'd like to work with anyone but THAT ONE PERSON"?

Because as much as I appreciate being recognized for some of the best of my many skills, and the work itself has been just lovely, they seem to have really messed up on the coworker front and it's been driving me mad. How am I supposed to work under these conditions? Not that I claim to be any stranger to being angry but this is getting to be too much.
[A heavy, dramatic sigh.]

What are the odds, hm?
[Look, he didn't even use the word 'father' once. Be proud of him.]

video;
None of us have any choice in what we're given to do by the captains or who we work with. [Because Venom didn't really care about that. He just wanted Liquid to calm down.]
Re: video;
Well, maybe they should start bloody offering some. If we haven't got the choice to come here in the first place, why can't we at least get a little wiggle room?

[He'd heard that lots of things around the ship didn't change that much.]
Also, try not to be so angry.
no subject
[Because of course he is.]
Try not to-- It's like you've never even met me.
[Him, not so angry? Never in a million years.]

oh well, i suppose it wouldn't hurt to ask.
but now i'm curious... i'm unlucky enough to end up in a place without anyone i know, how lucky were you to end up in a ship with someone you hate just that much?
Re: text;
Ha. I wouldn't call it anything near "lucky". Not even remotely close. But let's say I've met a few unpleasantly familiar faces.
[His own face, even! Incredibly familiar.]
no subject
really? most people would rather have a familiar face than none at all!
and more than one even!! now i'm really jealous. i wonder what i did to make the ingress cause me such grief.

Re: text;
[Other than that one minor, incredibly unpleasant detail, he's just fine with the job.]

I'd give it a try. Do you think he could be an assistant barista?
[That's right, Barista. If Liquid has been to the cafe at all in the last four days, he may recall a small, dark-haired girl helping serve coffee the coffee there. That's your new potential partner, Liquid.]

I think there's something open in sanitation or latrine cleaning. Sorry, waste disposal specialist, is the official title, I believe.
[Ocelot said he'd support you, Liquid, but he can't help but poke fun a bit over this.]
Re: video;
[Groaaaan. This is what he's going to have to deal with.]
I'm perfectly happy with my job, beyond him being there. Why don't you take him off my hands? You're friends, aren't you?
["Friends".]
no subject
[And he would always be friends with both Venom and John.]
But what are you suggesting I do?

can i ask what the problem is?
Re: text;
As much as I possibly could accomplish things with my eyes closed, I'll need them open again eventually, and I'm sure I'd still hear him just fine.
Oh, nothing. Just that I got assigned to work with someone I've hated pretty much my entire life.

Still, this is a very specific kind of anger. Snake's making a guess, but he's pretty sure he knows who Liquid must have been paired up with for his job. ]
What job did they give you?
[ Honestly, he doubts that Liquid wants to see his face, and Snake doesn't particularly want to see Liquid's, so text is easier. Less chance of it escalating this way. ]
Re: [text]
He'd appreciate the lack of video, except his theatrical gestures are pointless. Doesn't stop him from making them, though. It's sort of second-nature.]
Counterintelligence. So don't go sneaking around, brother. I'll know.
[Perks of the job. He's rather curious now, though.]
What have they got you working at?
[text]
Snake's glad to avoid the gestures and theatrics. He can only handle so much of that before it starts to work at his last nerve. ]
Pretty sure you can't be everywhere, Liquid.
[ He'll sneak where and when he wants, thank you very much. ]
I don't know if I should tell you. I don't need you bothering me while I'm working.
