Video; action?
[Here's Allison, standing in front of her little café]
So, good news for once? The All You've Got Café is now officially open.
Hurray!
[She throws a small handful of confetti made of a shredded paper napkin into the air, looking less enthused than she sounds and kind of nervous.]
Come get your caffeine and whipcream fix.
[She'll be here, lounging in a chair behind the counter - standing is for people who aren't running their own café - underneath the display that reads "Don't be a dink if you want a drink".]

What about teas and infusions?

Here, I'll send you the menu...
[She attaches a picture of the current tea selection board. Along the left side are a bunch of names, as copied off the translated packaging, that nobody's likely to recognize. Things like 'Jarbluhk Dayfood' and 'Kl-kla-tk Harvest Blend' and 'Red Florbi'.
On the right, each alien tea has a short description. Such as 'Sort of Earl Grey' and 'Green Tea-ish'. Some descriptors are a bit more interesting: 'Meat Broth???', 'Not Sure If Bath Bomb...', 'Tastes Turquoise??'.]

[ Said as he looks over the menu with knitted eyebrows, one arching the more names and descriptions he reads. He's not entirely sure if he'd even trust some of these enough to give them a try. ]
Did you try all of them yet?

Yeah

Though it does beg the question; what's the coffee?
Re: text
[That's the one described as 'Not Sure If Bath Bomb...']
The coffee is pretty much coffee. It's alien, but it basically tastes the same. A bit richer.
video.
( heeeey allsion. )
Re: video.
[Have a small wave]
I wasn't about to leave my job undone. Especially when there's no internet in this place.
video.
( yeah you. might want to fill him in on that. things ivan's universe has: ways to bring you back from the dead. things it does not have: youtube and cat memes. )
Re: video.
Shit, you didn't have the internet where you come from?
[She feels so sorry for you.]
Um, the internet is, like... the World Wide Web? It's this network, that, uh, connects everyone in the world. Well, everyone with a computer and an internet connection anyway. Um...
[The irony here is that if she had internet right now she could just look up a definition for the internet on Wikipedia.]

[That's not entirely true. He has an idea what they are, but their function somewhat eludes him. He is, after all, a giant metal alien.]
Do you have any, um, chocolate?
[He says, attempting to sound like he's not completely clueless on the subject.]
no subject
We have hot chocolate. That's like, uh, liquid chocolate. With milk or water.
Coffee's, like, an energizing drink and whipcream is when you, well, whip cream. Until it's light and fluffy.
Um. Can you actually eat human food?
[Seriously she's looking a bit baffled here.]

[Tailgate says very, very slowly.]
I wouldn't mind trying some!

That didn't sound very certain.

But sure, you can have your fluffed sugar in a cup.
video;
It's better than just drowning myself in powdered sugar.
Re: video;
It's not better at all! Why don't you just snort some raw sugar while you're at it?
