So, because I mention it in another conversation, I am going to say this here where all new people can hear it, and it does not need to be said a bunch of times.

You will sometimes see people with faces like people you know, but they aren't them. You will see people with names and histories of people you know, but look a little different. You will see two different versions of the same person, that looks exactly the same, but with slightly different pasts. Sometimes someone will go away, and when you see them again? They won't remember you.

This is called 'alternate universes'. Most of the time. Maybe sometimes it's a pretty bad prank. That would be shitty of someone to do but it could be. Usually though? It is that you get two versions of two very alike things.

So don't get too confused if someone shows up and doesn't remember you, or someone remembers one of your friends, or someone is looking for a different but much alike person with same name. It just happens. It is pretty shitty that this becomes normal but ah... whatever. Someone good at science can explain how it's possible.

Yes, but I'm not sure anyone else would particularly enjoy the outcome if I start fighting me. Collateral damage is something of an issue for most people.

[And were Loki to fight his double... well, neither of them is really the kind for face to face confrontations, so there'd mostly be a lot of attempts to manipulate people by one side or the other.]

Not at all for me, darling. I rather enjoy it, in fact. And really, who cares about what anyone else on this ship thinks?

[aurelia assumes, for the time being, that loki's fight would be physical. hey, some bandits are pretty skinny!]

Well, they'd perhaps care when it turned out to be a very prolonged nasty prank war. Magic is easier when it's not terribly discriminating.

[He shrugs. Look, he tries to be not evil, but that doesn't make him a nice person- and frankly, he's not sure his opponent isn't crazy enough to be even less choosy about what he does or who he affects. Craziness is pretty standard for Lokis.]

Prank wars are boring, darling. Unless they involve at least sixteen explosions and four endangered species being fired out of cannons. Then they're amusing.

[aurelia is of the opinion that one should never try to deny their natural evilness.]

Explosions, perhaps. More likely to endanger humans than animals, however. Lokis tend to be rather... underhanded when it comes to pranking, and we'd survive what might kill a mortal.

[And Loki's pranks always were a little nasty. Look at the myths.]
