[The video jumps around a little, shaky as he moves around the rec area. Thankfully he's going at a pace that can actually be seen by the human eye. The screen is just a shaky shot of the pool area, jerking a bit as he speaks.]

So, the pool. That's a really nice touch. Almost makes up for us being stuck in space. But, you know, I'm going to give it to you guys because I've always wanted a pool- well a bigger pool. We had one of those blow up kiddie things, but no one over the age of eight wants to be caught dead in that thing. Anyway, this. This is a step towards making this place less like a weird prison sentence.

What's not cool, on like the top ten list of really screwed up things about this place, is what you're lacking. You do have some issues with with rabid dogs and apparently you guys blew up a planet, like what? And while I'd really like to punch whatever lost my headphones, hey. I'll live. But the worst thing?

[Peter finally comes into view, a frowning mess of silver hair and bad fashion.]

I've not found a single Twinkie in this place. No Ding Dongs, no Ho Hos. Not even a Sno Ball. You guys are really killing me here.

My shoes. Which, come on. Who steals a man's shoes? And some keys. But they weren't mine anyway. So whatever.

Sucks about your watch. Like, why do they even want our shit? The tech is crazy here, what good is some of our crap to them?

[ Yata's okay with technology, but it's not even remotely his specialty. ]

My watch could work as a phone, too. Maybe that's why?

[He snorts, shakes his head.]

Sound like the same thing as these little doodads they gave us. Maybe they didn't want your stuff stealing the thunder. Maybe they just didn't want you to call home.

I dunno... That thing doesn't even work if I'm too far underground. I doubt it could call someone who isn't even on the same planet.

Bummer. We could use some way to get a line back home.

[He sighs, leans back against a wall.]

So who are you, anyway?

[skatebird]

I'm Yata. And I just got here, so I'm not sure where to find any of the snacks you talked about.

[takeitslow]

Don't sweat it, Yata. No one else seems to know either. Guess this place is just made to suck.

I'm Peter, by the way.

[skatebird]

Peter. Got it.

[ Nice and easy. ]

So... what are those snacks, anyway? They sound American.

[ He recognizes Twinkies, sort of, but not the rest. ]

Very American. They're snack cakes. And please lie to me and say you know what snack cakes are. If I hear another person here hasn't ever had them, I'll have to start feeling bad for this place.

[skatebird]

Come on, of course I know what snack cakes are. I even know how to make 'em.

[ ... which isn't something he usually admits, but his pride is on the line here. ]

I heard you can put in requests for stuff from home or... something like that, I think. If they're just snacks they should be pretty easy to get, right?

What, really? You a baker or something?

[Probably not something that should have been admitted around Peter, now he has a target next time he's hard up for something sugary.]

Yeah? That's not a bad idea. A good idea, actually. I need to do that, like, yesterday.

Let me know if it works.

[ Cause Yata doesn't even know who to ask, just that it's allegedly possible. And as for the other question... ]

Nothing like that. I just had to make snacks for my siblings and... ah, someone else I knew.

[ Fushimi isn't exactly a 'friend' anymore, after all. ]

Sure thing.

[He smiles a little at the mention of siblings. Doing stuff for family is something he gets.]

Yeah? Little ones I bet. Let me guess, you're the big brother.

Not so little anymore, but yeah.

[ Despite himself, Yata smiles a little. He doesn't talk about Megumi or Minoru much even back home, but right now it's kinda nice. ]

They'll still eat a whole tray of 'em if you're not careful, though.

I know what that's like.

[Even if Wanda was only a few minutes younger and the little one was going to hit double digits soon, he knows kids.]

Whole tray? Pfft. Try entire fridge. Kids are eating machines.

I knew better than to make that many. They already get wound up too easily.

[ Which, to fair, is true for the entire family including Yata himself. Put he's at least long since left behind his uncontrollable sugar rush days. ]

Smart. But that won't keep them out of everything else.

[Or maybe that's just how it is in his house.]

Sounds like you've had plenty of experience, too.

[ Because based on Yata's experiences, Peter's assumption is dead on accurate. ]
