Well, it's Earth, but a lot of people seem to be from a version of Earth that's not mine. The biggest event in recent history is the Omnic war, fought between humans and self-aware robots called omnics. It was really bad and a lot died on both sides. But when the war ended, it sort of just trickled off? So there are some omnics launching attacks even today, and other omnics who just want to live in peace with humanity, and they do in some places? But in other places they're outnumbered and treated really badly and it's sort of the worst.

I come from Earth, but more often than not I hail from an earlier time period.
