This is ridiculous. More than ridiculous, it’s… it’s actively idiotic.

If any of your claims about our abductions being “accidental” are true, your primary objective should be to return us to our home-planets as quickly and efficiently as possible. Instead, you want us to stay on this planet for weeks while the natives drone on about meaningless distractions like dating and love. [There’s a brief pause here, and one can easily imagine the speaker shaking her head in disgust.] Even if you did have ulterior motives in taking us, which is more than likely, there is no reason to have us stay on this irrelevant planet other than to waste our time.

I don’t know about my crewmates, but I have already been away for too long. I had -- have an objective back on Pandora and if these pointless diversions end up preventing its completion, I will make you pay for it. [She lets the threat hang there for a moment before speaking again.]

It is our primary objective to take everyone home, but this planet isn't irrelevant. There are times when it may take a month or longer to reach another stop, and this requires us to gather as much supplies as possible.

The natives ask that we indulge in their odd notions of matching and we ask that you play nice while we get the things we need.

[Nobody has to leave the ship while it's docked for loading but the captains know, and some of the crew would agree, that it's good to get out here and there.]

If the ship needs supplies, then order the crew to gather them so that we can be on our way. Making everyone take part in these foolish customs only slows us down.

They are. We have assigned new positions to the cargo bay, including those that will be responsible for inventory, ordering, and loading supplies. It might take them some time to adjust, but we're reworking how we do this.

It may seem foolish, but if filling out a survey is all it takes to let us purchase supplies, then it doesn't seem so large a thing.
