[The video feed here is set up very much like he's filming an orientation video; he knows little else other than strict formality here, but...when it comes to his school, he would say he finds the professionalism appropriate.]
The purpose for this is twofold, so I suppose I'll just get started.
Over the last few weeks of getting settled into this environment, learning its...well "intricacies" is a small word for it, perhaps eccentricities is better, I believe now more than ever that we need some tangible return to normalcy. I would like to have the school-- [and with the video feed he links something that looks very much like an old-school brochure, (which will very much omit the whole "subbasement" part of the post (and is not icly-literal).).] --up and running within the month. We have the faculties and facilities for a number of traditional subjects: literature, biology, philosophy, physical education [though it might sound like he means something very different by this] and a few other outliers, but we are still very much in need of some help in the history and mathematics departments. (Though I'll take more esoteric lessons under advisement).
[He pauses then, and his demeanor shifts entirely, shifting from cold to amiably warm like he's flipped a switch.]
As for the second point, and no less salient: it is my understanding that I am not the only one of my kind here, and that we are not, perhaps, the only ones particularly gifted. For those of you who may not identify as mutants, I would love the opportunity to speak with you about the nature of your powers.
[He pauses to consider that request for a moment, and follows up with an addendum:]
If any of you are comfortable doing so.

good he needs a dad
[He could not possibly be further from the truth. And no, the word 'mutant' flew right over his pointy head.]
Uh, yeah no. Maybe for you squishy organic types. But me? I got everything I need right up in my processor.
oh sideswipe
[But he then fixes Sideswipe with a firm glance.] You had to learn somehow.
[Don't make him give "the human brain is the best computer we'll ever have" speech. He'll do it.]
i dont know what's wrong with him im sorry
[It sounds pretty damn flippant but honestly, if this human agreed, he'd just kind of go with it.]
Yeah, and it was lame. I skipped out, as soon as possible, man.
<3
[A harder glance.]
And I'm not sure that's anything to brag about.

And psh, you'd be surprised. They weren't gonna gimme anything I needed. And plus? I'm doing great as it is.

Hopefully. ]Science is science. Different subsets, maybe, and at times perhaps behind, but still science all the same.
shhhhhh
And it's all a snooze-fest, my dude.
Seriously.
I'm a defender of Earth or something like that and I don't need it any. Me and Grim get by just fine.

[He just... shrugs. A lot. Because he honestly has no idea.]
What else am I supposed to think when it's all, "No Sideswipe, sit down and follow the rules" or "Flirting with a Combiner is against the law even if the left arm was totally into it".
... and no, dude, not programming. We're like, the total opposite of AI.
no subject
If you're not programmed, how does that work?
no subject
[Sorry, Charles. It means exactly what you think it means.]
It just... does? Dude, I'm not a medic, I dunno?

Nah, man. I'm good. Nobody here to get all tangled up with anyways. Just me.
[And. That sucks. A lot. But hey, he's not going to get into that much.]

If you say so. You're the expert, after all.
