TAB - Video
[ When the video clicks on, immediately the scene on display is a modest sized farmhouse with what look like orchards in the distance. From the fairly temperate looking climate a good guess would be that this is on Kauto.
The video turns about, giving a flash of a large block of wood and what looks like smaller pieces scattered around it. Good guess is that someone is chopping wood but has taken a break for the moment. This is born out when Adrien's face comes into the feed, the doctor is dressed in a t-shirt rather than his usual uniform.
Slightly out of breath, his dark hair is plastered to his face at the temples and forehead. Yep, someone has been chopping wood, rather aggressively if the sweat is anything to go by. ]
I'll keep this short and to the point. [ Par for the course. ] For what it's worth to those you who are accident prone or otherwise given to ending up injured, I've applied for duties at the local hospital in Region One. [ He doesn't expect he's the only one but he'll let Angela and Alva speak for themselves. ]
I'm also -and I can't believe these words are leaving my mouth- using some of the equipment salvaged from the MedBay on the Moira to equip a private practice here at this location. [ He made a vague motion in the direction of the house. ]
If anyone feels more comfortable ... [ These words are delivered in a neutral, non-judgmental tone. The Savrii have been nothing but generous to this point and this is not to suggest there is a problem. Rather, he knows what it's like to be paranoid as fuck. ] ... well, what's the saying? The devil you know?
[ Pausing for a drink of water, he fiddles for a moment with the bottle, before gazing up and over the top of the device, his eyes obviously scanning the landscape for something. He takes a breath, stops the words but then quickly finishes. ]
Uhhm ... I'm not sure, who else is on Kauto but ... has anyone happened to seen Courser in the past couple of days?
[ Though his tone is level, to anyone who knows him well, there is a definite edge of anxiety in his voice and in his expression. ]

audio; sorry for the slow!
That's more than I got. Was a complete non-believer in it.
[ But you know what they say about seeing and believing... ]
Green tea should be okay. Earl Grey. Either one.
[ He's not that picky. As long as he's got some honey to go in it, it's all good. ]
audio; n/p! I was speed of snail myself
Here are the directions. You're welcome to stop by any time I'm at home, which will probably be any time I'm not on shift at the Kauto Region One hospital.
[ The directions are pretty straight forward, in a country 'turn at the gnarled oak' kind of way. But in truth if Strange asked any native about the apple orchard in Region Two, he'd get pointed the right way. ]
audio;
[ Stephen felt like he was starting from the ground up at this hospital but it was good, in a way. He got to help people of all kinds (aliens, too). And learning new things was always something he would enjoy even if it included performing simple diagnoses.
He takes a glance at the directions and already knows he'll probably need some help but he'll find his way there somehow. ]
Will you be there tonight?
audio;
[ Why else would you have an interview? The whole idea of meeting someone, getting a sense of how well personalities would work together, and all that thinking was completely alien to him.
A hold over from working on a deep space vessel where you didn't get to choose who you worked next to in the effort to keep the crew alive. ]
I am. I came off shift this afternoon so I'm clear until late tomorrow night.
[ Graveyard shift in the ER was his happy place, and since most doctors avoided it like the plague, he'd been able to almost command his own schedule. Even if, as a new arrival, he was also bottom of the pecking order. ]
audio;
Graveyard shift, huh? Good luck with that.
[ Stephen knows it would drive him mad. Got enough of those shifts during his first residency. ]
But I'll head over there after my shift. By early evening.
[ Hopefully. He still has to find his way there. ]
audio;
[ He was a paranoid and reclusive fucker, make no mistake, but he genuinely intended for the clinic to be available to anyone who needed the help.
Having the doors bolted up like a secured armory wouldn't do much to foster that image.
Besides, he was still hoping that Courser would make it home. ]

[ And with that, he hangs up. Just in time as he's being paged to surgery.
A few hours later, and a little help from the natives, he manages to find his way to the clinic after sundown. He knocks on the door out of habit before opening the door and poking his head in. He calls out, ]
Hello? Dr. Arbuckal?
action
Through the hallway, first left! Oh and you might want to hurry. The electricity is going to cut off in about thirty seconds.
[ Had he warned Strange about that quirk to his house? Nope ... must have missed that detail. ]
And call me Adrien.
[ When Strange found his way to the disembodied voice, he'd find himself in a surprisingly (for a bachelor) neat and comfortable looking living room. A large hearth blazed with a fire that served the dual purpose of warding off the night chill and also helping to illuminate the space.
Small kerosene lanterns were also being pressed into service.
If Strange dwaddled then he would learn the hard way that come 11:00pm on the dot, the lights cut out and the house adopted that calm stillness that came with a complete lack of an artificial power source. ]
