Hello everyone. One of your resident medical staff here with a valuable question. I was going to make a PSA but that can wait for later in the month. For now, short version blah blah blah don't spread disease some people don't have immunities blah blah blah we have sex ed materials if you need that kind of thing look for them so on and so forth alternate universes, they happen, and sometimes people look like you or have your name and mama. Good times. Large inorganics have a cargo bay space set aside for them.

More on all that later.

The recent dimming of power is creating a health issue for some of my patients. And being that we're a bunch of resourceful smart cookies, some of us anyway, I want to put together a repair team. Specifically I planned to ask Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, Tali, Ratchet the fuzzy not Ratchet the metal, and Peridot. But I know there are some of you I'm not acquainted with that could add a little something to this party.

That said, I know absolutely fuck all about magic but if someone has ways that might be able to pitch in too? I'm figuratively all ears.

A power generator or optimization of current stores.

It's not just the light it's the temperatures that are unhealthy. There's a number of crew from desert or jungle worlds who are now in deeply uncomfortable territory.

The temperatures are too low for some people that evolved on desert and jungle based worlds. Especially those that are ectothermic. I'm looking into other solutions to help them, heated uniforms or a special warmed area, but the easiest fix would be just to raise the ship's temp in most regularly occupied areas again.

Please tell me when you say health issues you mean the temperature. I'll help anyway, but I don't know how long I can live in engineering. It's the only warm place left on the ship.

Yeah, it's the temp. I asked them to warm up the Mess Hall for you hot-blooded types too.

I figure if we can all get the temperature back to normal it'll be one small favor. Then we can build from there.

Unless you've got something specific in mind, I could have a look in the life support system and try to find some way to make generate heat on less power.

Actually, it might take some work, but the engines generate a lot of wasted heat. If we could make them run more efficiently the wasted energy could be better spent heating the ship. It wouldn't have been possible back when it was just me in engineering, but there's a lot more of us now...

The hot lady that runs engineering says that she might have some ideas on optimizing the heat output. And I'm pretty good with managing generators too, but figuring out what can run an extra one on board this ship might take a little finagling.

For now, I think we should all put together the data we have. I know I wasn't the only one studying the Ingress, so putting everything together and figuring out what we do know for sure seems like a logical first step.

our alternative power source options are better than they might seem
the heat coming off the engines has already proven effective for some modest geothermal generation, for example
we've just gotta get resourceful

With all this it does sound like we could rig up a rechargeable battery of some sort. But it might me we'd have to call on you fine folks more than once.
