⚍⚍ INCOMING TRANSMISSION ⚎⚎

[The feed begins abruptly. All crew members' MIDs flash red text across the screen, a high pitched alert sound erupting from the device. A man with tanned skin and white hair addresses the Moira as a whole.]

It has come to our attention that your ship has visited our planet once before. That your crew, though less in size than it is now, removed priceless glass works and various supplies without payment or any sort of agreement.

You are not welcome here any longer! [His face is flushed a deep crimson. They don't abide rule breaking or stealing.] Your crew has four days to be off Caducus Primary.

[Which was kinder than they deserved, but it was their way. The man doesn't give his name but he exudes authority and anger. He is displeased and disgruntled.]

Do you understand?

[ Doesn't really feel like she's got a horse in this race, but getting accused of something she actually didn't do? That's gotta be a first. Okay, well, change that to "something she didn't personally do", not like she's been around long enough to watch that criminal record get written. Picturing their captains with longer fingers though? She could probably get behind that.

See, we're your law-abiding and friendly crew from the Moira, the guys you're looking for are cruising on the Mira. Same make, same model, the whole same nine yards, and, uh, pretty much the only difference is that their crew? Are total dicks. Probably out to rob the whole galaxy blind, if I can be honest with you.

[ She shakes her head. ]

[His face is scrunched up, and it's clear from his tone and body language that he doesn't believe her.]

Do you assume we'd make accusations of this degree without having evidence first?

Where is this ship now? If you are so familiar with its crew and their actions.

This must be a mistake, Representative. This ship would not do something so foolish to sabotage our planetary relations.

See, thing is they may be scum, but they're professional scum. Wear a few disguises here, change up a few registration numbers there, and voila, you got yourself a whole different identity. Doesn't hurt if the whole "twin ship" layout's already doing half the work for ya. Doesn't hurt them, anyway, as for us...

[ She crosses her arms, looking pretty solemnly concerned right there. ]

You see, situations like this are exactly why we're usually trying our damn hardest not to get involved with those Mira assholes. [As if Ratchet needed more of a reason to not trust their captains, here was confirmation that they shouldn't. Not only was someone amongst them involved in something illicit, they were dragging the rest of the crew down with them.]

Whether you believe your ship to be the ship I speak of or not isn't significant to this discussion. Your ship holds stolen goods, that much is known, and for that you are asked to leave our planet.

Are you certain of that? And could you provide proof?

We've been provided with proof that tells us that what is ours is on your ship. The value is not important. The fact is that we were stolen from and that's unacceptable.

Mistaken? No, we are not mistaken. The crew of this ship has stolen from us at a previous time. You are no longer welcome here. Prepare your crew and leave.

I addressed your ship as a whole because it is the right thing to do. Equal knowledge is only fair. If one of you is a thief then by association you are all thieves.

How can we possibly allow any of you to stay along with the others? We are giving you time to gather your people and leave, that is more than kind of us.

They'd have had to have stolen it since before we all started arriving. And I haven't seen anything like what they're describing on board.

( then again, he hasn't been looking. he hopes whoever this is has a better idea of what to do than ivan does. )

Because we're innocent, that's how. Do you even know who the culprits are? How do you know it wasn't some other spaceship that just happens to look exactly like this one?

But that crew might not have been us. On account of the fact that none of us has been here for longer than a few months, except for the captains. So why blame us for something we haven't done?

[He switches to video, too. He's a thief and a murderer by trade, yes, but he does greatly dislike being saddled with the debts of others. Even if he was willing to take them on for his cousin, his cousin was family. This, this shouldn't be his responsibility.]

All of us but four are new to this place. And as far as I know, all but four of us did not choose to be here. We are brought here and made to be a part of this crew.

Look, this whole look-into-the-future thing is pretty creepy. I don't mind having to go. But ah... a lot of us are innocent. I got some stuff I can pay you with. Maybe it would help cover some of the cost of those supplies so that would we would be allowed if there was a very real emergency. Like sick people or badly damaged ship.

I would offer to try and help get your objects back, but I would not know where to start.
