So. Unlimited shopping funds. Along with having fun and treating ourselves, what I see here is an Opportunity.

Behold, your bar and café-

[The view pans over the bar on the side of the mess hall and then the café counter next door.]

Decent, yes. Serviceable. Quaint. But basically just an afterthought tacked onto the mess hall. But! Especially with the ship's growing population... What if we went big?

I'm talking getting our own room and making a snazzy new dedicated bar-and-cafe! Custom tables! Lounge chairs! Jukeboxes! Maybe a dance floor. Nachos.

[Her spiel over, Allison suddenly takes a -10 penalty to all confidence rolls.]

So, uh, what does everybody think? And like... What do you want out of a café and/or bar?

Okay, that's actually a pretty great idea.

But I was thinking, what if we buy fruit trees and grow our own fresh fruit?

The garden's got a number of seedlings coming into sprout, but it would be better if we had fully-grown trees on board already.

I say do it. Purchase a bunch of 'em. Every fruit you can find.

I am going to buy the hell out of fruit trees!

Like, this is space shopping, right? They probably have GMO space trees that are half the size and double the fruit.

Just line the whole bar and cafe with trees! Double purpose — soothing greenery, and produce.

Great for cocktails, too.

Huh. Maybe I could.

They probably don't even think about it. Just buy plants every day, flashing their flashy credit chits.

Okay, they probably buy things that aren't plants, but you get the idea.

I feel like I should go out and buy something completely ridiculous like a rich person would just because I can.

But I'm too distracted thinking about the cafe. When did I become boring and practical?

Absolutely. Limited time offer to act like a billionaire. A quadrillionaire.

Everyone settles down some time. One day you're buying a line of shots for everyone at the bar, next thing you know you're micromanaging the furnishings in your apartment.

[beat;]

Oh my god. I'm boring and practical.

[Well, that breaks Allison into a fit of snorts and giggles.]

Shit, we should start a really well-organized and unexciting club.

Nuh uh. I refuse to encourage this. Next thing you know, I'll be making scrapbooks unironically.
