Text/Audio/Video; open to all members of the crew except for: Kobra Kid
[On the 17th, Captain Thán sends out a text message addressing all Moirans.]
The environment on the ship has been extremely hostile, more than what's typical for us, and that has to stop. The punishment system was put into play to discourage these kinds of actions, but there have been more after its installation.
This means that things are going to change, beginning with the treatment of other crew members.
As your captains, we don't wish to force anyone to do anything, and we'd prefer that everyone learn to live and work together to achieve our common goal, but that idle behavior we've adopted is now over. All of us are extremely displeased.
We're going to start with reworking the punishment system. This will mean the creation of new positions (arresting officers, mediation officers, etc.), and the implementation of new rules.
Please state your suggestions, thoughts, and offer yourself as candidates for the new roles.
[Messages will come from all the captains.]

There aren't many that want to be here on this ship. We understand, but that doesn't mean we can all act out and cause each other harm. Something has to be done and we want to do it better than the time before this.
What skills or experience do you have?

Agreed. No one should be getting into full-blown fights in the first place, but... I'm glad something's being done to try to stop it from happening. Or discourage it more effectively, I guess. There's probably no ethical way to actually stop it entirely...
I'm a soldier. I've had a lot of combat experience and extensive training, so I'd like to think I know what I'm doing when it comes to a situation that might involve a possible fight. I'm not the best in my program back home--Tex is, actually--but I function well in a team? [ He's really bad at selling himself at anything, sorry. ] I'm not sure what else to mention, but I don't mind answering any questions if you have any?

A soldier is something that can be useful. Tell me how you would respond to this scenario:
Two crew members are fighting. You don't know what caused the disagreement or who started it. All you know is that other people are going to get hurt. The only way to stop them is to take at least one of them down. What do you do?

Okay. I'd restrain the one that looks most like they'd be the one to make the first move, whether that means pulling them away from the other person or ends up needing to be something more drastic as getting them to the ground and pinning them there.
From there I'd try talking to them? Try to find out what the problem is, calm them down if possible, and try to work out a solution if one can be found. If it can't be or they refuse to calm down or work something out... I'd call in some backup, just someone to keep the second person under control, and take them to a superior. I wouldn't really be sure how to keep them separated to avoid further fighting, so that seems better left up to someone else.

Thank you, it was a thoughtful answer.

But sure, no problem! Thanks for the consideration and for making sure our opinions matter.
