The environment on the ship has been extremely hostile, more than what's typical for us, and that has to stop. The punishment system was put into play to discourage these kinds of actions, but there have been more after its installation.

This means that things are going to change, beginning with the treatment of other crew members.

As your captains, we don't wish to force anyone to do anything, and we'd prefer that everyone learn to live and work together to achieve our common goal, but that idle behavior we've adopted is now over. All of us are extremely displeased.

We're going to start with reworking the punishment system. This will mean the creation of new positions (arresting officers, mediation officers, etc.), and the implementation of new rules.

Please state your suggestions, thoughts, and offer yourself as candidates for the new roles.

As it stands now, it would have been a collective effort. The crew would look at the evidence, make their decisions, and the punishment put into play. The captains aren't excused from it.

But that system is clearly not working, since crew have continued to act out.

When the new system is created, the captains will be part of it as well.

What kind of things have the crew been doing?

Murdering one another. Attempting to erase parts of each other that would strip them of who they are. Senseless acts of violence that can no longer continue.

For the most part, the crew have all behaved maturely and respectfully. Unfortunately, the few that haven't are the reason things are changing.

I mean, given the circumstances, it's not surprising that some people might be acting out.

There were two, but one has recently left. We might have to offer the position to another crew member.

I mean, it seems to me that under the circumstances, a lot of these violent outbursts need psychoanalysis.

We don't have any other trained staff, but training can be easily given. Perhaps we should look for candidates who want to learn.

I mean, the doctors around here got put in the med bay. The pilots are flying. The techies are doing...techie things.

Some jobs were given because crew had the skill to fill them. Some were given because they were positions that need to be filled.

A field medic was needed when you came on the ship. If you believe you have skills that would suit a different job better, you should apply for it.

Crewman Rosethorn and Doc Meh both work with plants. I don't know the details of their work, but I believe it's medicinal and for research.
