So-

[Billy brings up his other hand to idly scratch at his cheek. To be honest, hanging out in a group isn't something he's done in a while... certainly not back where he came from, but. Getting to know your shipmates a little more can't be bad, right? They all have to work together.]

Since I have some DVDs and a portable player, I thought it might be fun to set up some sort of movie night soon? Just for something fun and stupid. Maybe we can get some snacks, some drinks... Make an actual night of it.

If anyone's interested, let me know here, and when you're available so we can try to set up a time that's convenient for everyone.

I saw Metropolis, and The Jazz Singer-- that one was amazing! The Wizard of Oz nearly made me cry, though I couldn't make it through Gone With the Wind. I liked It Happened One Night! The Wolfman was ridiculous, if horror movies haven't changed much I think I'll give that genre a pass.

I always liked going to the movies though. For a while, you're watching someone else's story. Escaping into a different world for a while, where everything turns out alright in the end.

Yeah, I've only been here a short time, and I still think I'd like that. I've heard some people have been here for months, I imagine they desperately could use a night like that.

So which one ends the best out of those two that you have? The Sound of Music or Lord of the Rings?

...Slowly. [She admits with a wince in her voice.] I had no idea what a 'cell phone' was before I got here, if that gives you any indication of the level of adjustment I've had to undergo.

[But it's not impossible, and the things she's seeing every day are nothing short of amazing. ...save the slightly scuzzy showering facilities on her deck. Part of acclimating to that might be taking it upon herself to sterilize it every week.]

That sounds great. Appeal to the broader audience on the first meeting and hopefully you'll have a 'movie following' after a while.

1912.

[All things considered, she's apparently doing pretty well.]

Very good for morale. Or at least, good for building camaraderie between all of us.

I'm still working on it, honestly. But I'm a quick study at mostly everything, so I'm picking up how to work the thumb scanners, the MIDs, all of that.

Of course-- even if we're not under a lot of strain here, we share a common thread of having been taken from our various timelines at the very least. Being away from them will probably start to take a toll, and being isolated from each other would only make it worse.
