[Time for another rousing round of Get Off the Network, Ratchet. At least this time he isn't drunk posting, although he is in the bar. It's just convenient. His tone is relatively cheerful but he is very, very serious. Something is going wrong on this ship.]

Okay, soooo, are we all gonna talk about how broken the justice system on this ship is now? How it doesn't work?

Because I feel like this is a great time. What with, people taking matters into their own hands, and all that.

What, no, that's not what I meant! [It takes Ratchet aback, the whiplash of that argument. Moreso because the hypothetical described sounds astonishingly like how things were run on the Neheda; the last place Ratchet wants things to go. He hesitates, seeming flustered.]

It's more like...I just meant that it's important we listen to the people who were hurt. Who are scared. Not that they dictate what happens but...if we can't make them feel safe then we get situations like this. Situations where people are making themselves feel safe.

I'm not sure that's a thing that can be done after the fact. Particularly not when there's this many people that weren't involved arguing over it.

I wouldn't be surprised of some of the "criminals" everyone's afraid of right now were doing the same damn thing - reacting on panic or thinking there was some kind of a threat to them to begin with.
