Maybe it's that I'm a perfectionist, but I don't like us handing this job with the hunters off to someone else. I don't know whether it's a matter of diplomatic neutrality or what, which is what I suspect. It just... My men are trained in non-lethal take-downs. With the skill sets available on board, the numbers, I think it would be relatively simple to render the entire stock of hunters unconscious and have them transported off the planet.

No casualties. Quick. Clean. I've seen other people on board in action, ones I didn't train, both in the simulation room and out in the wild. They're good. The mercenaries could take up protection work after the fact. But honestly, lowest damage possible scenario, I would trust to us.

Yeah. Doesn't sit right. [Not the mission itself. Having the hunters driven out? Fine. Giving up ship expenses and valuables to pay for what they could very easily do themselves? That gives him a lot of pause.]

It would be hard to keep any sort of 'neutrality' in the face of the fact there is no way to ensure our involvement in hiring said mercenaries is kept hushed up. I agree with you that if so many are wishing to fight for some moral obligation for a planet that we will likely never see again, then seeing it through personally is actually better.

Though I will state that becoming involved is a risk with a high statistical possibility of causing us more problems in the long run, especially in the event that we are jumping in blind and thus are not seeing factors that could violently cause a change in outcome. Especially in regards to our giving away materials that may or may not be needed for bartering for survival necessities at a future time.

Bargaining would be far more preferable then the oddly blind faith that many of our fellow crewmembers seem to be harboring about this.

If the masses do advocate some action whether the original intent or an adaptation of your solution, I'll volunteer to run information planet side and and ship side so long as an adequate frequency is there. About all I can offer in this, outside of general commentary. If you do need such support Specialist Miller.

[BB is of the opinion that of those willingly voicing their doubts about this entire transaction you seem the most logical to back currently.]

Quite right, why we may find some hidden talent that can be honed and shaped for future endeavors if we keep an open mind. After all, this is a moderate risk of a scenario, a perfect place to see just what we're capable of when we actually put our minds together.

In metaphorical hindsight, this actually could be a boon with the right spin, now that you have me thinking on it. A perfectly good instance of field experience for future conflicts we may come across. I may make such a suggestion to this Ishmael, even if we don't actually take up the cause ourselves completely.

Thank you for that lead in this regard, even if it was not your intention.
