[CLOSE UP on Sideswipe's dumb face. He's got his head propped up on his hands, lying on the floor of the observation deck, feet kicking in the air. Honestly, he just looks bored.]

Soooo...

What is there to do on this stupid ship? I mean, you guys don't even have the movie channels! Or like, video games, except on these comm things.

[He holds up a hand, shifting to rest on his other elbow. The hand is... moving like he's making it talk.]

But Sideswipe, there's a whole planet you could go hang out on! It's super cool with giant flying monsters!

Oh, yeah, I know. It's awesome. But, apparently, you make one lame choice and you're "grounded".

Oh! The drawing thing -- sometimes jumping. Like when the cop bots started getting their wires in a knot.

D'you do a lot of running from the cop bots? Back home, I mean.

Oh -- I mean whatever you're going to be doing as part of the crew. I was a shipmaster back home but for some reason [the wryness is palpable they didn't give me that option here.

On Cybertron, yeah. All the time. On Earth? Not so much -- cause the Decepticons are way more of a problem than me.

... uhhh... I... don't know...?

There's an Earth in the galaxy where I come from, but I'm damn sure we never heard of Cybertron. Or your factions. Starting to think we're the least interesting parallel universe I've heard of since coming here.

[snerk] Maybe it's Ship's Animation Officer. Medbay already has reanimation covered.

In your galaxy? Don't all humans come from Earth or something? That's what Bee said.

That probably explains it! [doesn't explain why the early humans expanding out into the galaxy never encountered Cybertronians after that, but if Sideswipe wants to be universe buddies, Bel can go with that.]

Pick your favorite captain and ask. They don't bite, at least not that I've seen.

Yeah; they take turns. Captain Thán is the acting head captain right now. Captain Cúrre runs Medbay, and Navigator Manasseh prefers that title but she's a captain too. [and just in case he missed this bit also] There's a directory on the MID; you could just send a note.

I bet they were. I can just imagine the monuments, now lost to the mists of time.....

[As he lifts his arm around, waving it idly in the air to show off his location.]

Ugh math. Glad I checked out of that scrap early. And by checked out, I mean, skipped out.

Doesn't sound familiar at all. Are you sure you're on the ship? [walking through one of the observation deck doors right now; the deck's broad, but the giant robot at one end of it isn't exactly inconspicuous.]

... Yeah, dude. It's the observation place. Never been there?

I don't think we even have one. Wait, though, now that you mention it..... [not over the MID at all anymore; approaching from the far end of the deck, waves cheerfully. hi up there!]

[He looks around for a second before--]

Oh. Hey!

I guess we do have an observation deck after all! Nice to see you in person, Sideswipe. ['in the flesh' wouldn't be exactly accurate.]

Yeah, you too dude. Welcome to the star-dome!

[He's being a bit dramatic, but oh well. It's funny, to him.]
