[He reads the initial message with mild curiosity, the replies with something closer to frustration. He does wait to know the misadventure hasn't proved fatal before replying himself, but he's still replying.

It's rare to see Loki with any expression that isn't, in some way, not entirely serious, but hey, congrats, people get to see it today despite the attempt to sound light-hearted.]

Well, there's a lesson for me in wishful thinking, I suppose. Perhaps next time, people will actually read the warnings I leave- although I don't hold out much hope.

I have. I made sure no-one was dead before I felt the need to point out that I do not leave warning signs unless things are likely to prove a personal danger to me. And anything that's a danger to me is almost certainly deadly to anyone else.

You're excessively lucky it's only his arm. I've seen the results of what that does, and I've been shown its thoughts. It lives to eat energy, it prefers people-energy, and it very much enjoys what it does. And the people it kills don't come back.

I know evil a little better than most, and that thing is evil. A monster in the sense of the word I know, and I don't use the term lightly.

That depends. I can't see in heads, no, but someone shared what they'd seen, and I rather got the impression it was always a monster. It just didn't used to look like one. Not exactly an unusual state of affairs, really.

Mmm, the captains were very cagey about the whole affair. We didn't get terribly many answers from them. Still, I'd hope there are few enough people like that on board now.

[Sans doesn't bother resisting that flow. Not that he intends to share much, Chara and Sans made a deal to that effect, but better to not give the kid any reason to cry foul. That's how people wound up getting killed.]

are you speaking in the third person or is loki a real common name where you're from? 'cuz if it's the former, i can't say i see the resemblance.

Ah- not common, precisely. Loki is... as much a role as a name, yes? It's what I am, as much as what I'm called,

[He's... mostly talking in third person. Loki's relationship with who he was is complicated, though, and he's not exactly the Loki he was, so it's only half a lie. Maybe three quarters.]

The Loki who was, the one before me, was somewhat more inclined to lash out when he deemed things unfair. Without much regard for who he hurt or what he destroyed in the process, either. I know humanesque monsters, because he was one- and people expect me to be very much the same.
