sooo what kind of powers do you guys have? were you born with them or get them in some freak incident or what?

[He pauses as he types out the text, considering if he should be honest about his intentions or not. It's not like he had any sinister plans or anything. It's just a matter of being private. But he doesn't want to sound too weird or shady. This sounds shady doesn't it??

He types and deletes a bunch of times, unhappy with most of the reasons he tries to give for asking the question. This one makes him sound too weak, this one makes him sound too ignorant, this one just makes him sound stupid. Eventually he settles for...well, nothing. He just gives up and hits send.]

A lab incident involving gamma radiation exposure and a radiation resistant serum gave me the ability to turn into a big green monster. This transformation happens whenever my body releases high levels of adrenaline.

um wow. so if you get too excited or anything you turn into this monster? are you aware while you transformed?

Something like that, yes. Excited, angry, scared, it can be just about any kind of emotion as long as it's strong enough.
It depends. Transformations can be voluntary or accidental. When voluntary I'm in control and I can remember most everything. When accidental, I only retain glimpses. I'm also not in control of the monster then.

how much radiation was it? i mean i kind of imagine you have to be exposed to a hell of a lot this is like the second time someone has mentioned radiation too

A lot of it. But there was more to the experiment than I was aware of. I was supposed to just survive the radiation, instead I got the monster.

uh from a rock. i mean this big glowing crystal rock like thing? it made this weird humming noise and we - my friends and i - we got these really bad nosebleeds and blacked out

Did your friends get abilities too, or was it just you?

we all did. the exact same ability. i think...i mean i'm not sure but i think it kind of connected us? i dont know how to explain it.

A mental link of some kind? Or is it more just related to the abilities you got?

Do you know where the rock came from?

i really dont know. i think its the abilities? i mean sometimes we could hear each other and just know where the other was. my best friend [It pains him to even think about Steve and that night, but luckily this is text so it doesn't show.] well something happened and he said he heard my voice and knew exactly where to find me.

no. it was underground and when we tried to go back the hole it was in caved in. we were told we had to leave. to this day i still don't know what happened.

There's someone on the ship who might be able to help you. She has powers similar to yours, I think.

[ Not that he trusts Wanda all that much, but she would know better than anyone else what Andrew is going through. ]

If you want to, I can mention you to her and see if she'd be up to talking to you about it.

[Andrew is always suspicious of offered help but his powers are something he's heavily invested in, so he'll take all the help he can get even if talking to people he doesn't know in this place makes him a little anxious. It's one thing to do it through text.]
