Whatever law there was got toppled and mob mentality pretty much took over.

[ Now Sam looks at the camera, finally. ]

[Maya looks right back at him, under heavy-lidded green eyes. She's not a bad person, really. Just kind of abrasive. And resentful at the moment. But there seems to be a lot of that going around.]

What kind of species inhabits the planet? Are they human?

Believe me. These uniforms might make us stand out in a crowd, but half the time normal clothes would make us stand out in a crowd.

[ You should see what Sam wears under his uniform. ]
