Hey there! I know things are really hectic right now and everyone's got a lot to do but I'd really like to borrow an ordinary flesh and blood human of reasonably durable constitution for a very short time.

Let's be straightforward: I want to hit you. I promise I won't try to kill you or anything like that, it's just once, and I'll get you something nice to make up for it afterward, I just really really need to hit someone who qualifies. Please don't be unusually fragile or something, I don't want to explain that to whoever might be in charge of organic repairs.

This won't take long I swear. And then we can go back to doing our much more important things!

[That makes more sense than Yori feared, but leaves her with no good argument against it.]

Sparring hasn't been a problem for me, but it's a good test if you find one to agree and you're polite.

Just don't hit them in the head, those are fragile and we can't afford to lose anyone useful right now.

Wise not to start trouble. Some Users like to practice fighting as much as combat programs do, so I'm sure you'll find a combat partner.

Should be all right. You'll have to see how your strength levels match up. Hard to tell for any given individual without testing.

[Programs and Users both have such a wide range of possible designed strength.]

I'm not written to fight, but I've learned some things, since I keep running into situations where I need to.

[Years of being thrown from one odd situation into another will do that. Yori recalls her earliest lessons in Survivalist Club self-defense and Taekwondo fondly.]

Oh, that reminds me. Don't hit a User between the legs unless they're a serious threat, they react badly.

Good.

Encom was very strict about roles, and the MCP would try to force anyone nonessential to join the army--I was on a factory line. The MCP is gone now. I hope the system improves. It's nice to be able to learn what interests me instead.

I find Users to have about the same likelihood of damage as most programs, excluding designed combat functions, but in general they take a long time to heal if they get hurt.

It's important to find things to enjoy, with the number of messes we also get into.

Some User healers have more resources than others, but it's always a complex problem, mending damage. Not like code at all.

Even when we're stuck on the station, you could ask Users about their music, some of them are sure to have examples. You're already making connections to practice fighting.

Not as automatic as I'd like in cases of significant damage, but still fascinating.
I tried to learn a little from various healers.

I learned some basic things about repairing systems that might apply to robots,
but no, not much. The ones who call themselves Cybertronians are extremely complex and I haven't had a good source to learn from.

[As much as Yori likes Sideswipe, in a half-amused, half-annoyed way, her fellow resident in Shepard's protection isn't often a reliable source.]
