That can be an unpleasant experience, yes.
I don't personally have telepathic abilities but from what I understand it can present a host of similarly unpleasant experiences. My closest friend does have those abilities.
It gives us a convenient way to communicate when we need to be quiet, for one thing. But he also has been able to find memories of mine that I thought I had lost, and give them back to me. I will always be grateful to him for that.
