Greetings... fellow crew members.
[It looks like it pained her a just a tiny little bit to say that last part, if the shadow of a grimace that passes over her face is any indication.]
It occurs to me that many of you may not yet know me. Allow me to introduce myself: Peridot, cryo repair technician and senior crew member aboard this ship.
[She's been here for over 3 months now, which, by her measure? Means she's significantly more senior here than all you NOOBS.]
I'm creating this message because I have an offer to extend to all of you less technologically savvy cl-- People. Like everyone else on the Moira, I have my assigned duties, which I do, as requested, with regular efficiency. But unlike most of you, I'd rather not dribble away valuable so-called "free time" doing "recreation" [literal air quotes] and other such nonsense.
[She pauses. Sighs dramatically.] Unfortunately, I'm finding myself with an excess of "free time", because unlike you organic lifeforms, I do not require food or "sleep", and the duties assigned to me by the Captains only keep me occupied for so many hours of the day.
This is where my offer comes in: If you have any mechanical equipment that needs maintenance, or if you need some kind of device engineered and constructed, you are welcome to contact my personal channel and request my assistance. I think you will find my skills to be more than satisfactory.
[She looks like she's about to sign off, but then has a second thought.]
Oh... And before you clods start bombarding me with the same idiotic questions over and over, allow me to address the more common ones for you: No, I am not a "mutant" human. I am a gem. If you really want to know what gems are, I can forward you a helpful primer on the subject so that I don't have to waste my breath explaining it for the thousandth time since I was dragged aboard this ship. Yes, you heard correctly when I said that gems are not organic lifeforms. And lastly, no, I am NOT a "robot".
[Satisfied that that should keep at least some of the imbeciles at bay, she nods curtly.]
Thank you for your consideration. Peridot, signing off.

If you have the time. I'm not actually on duty today but I'll likely be down there getting some extra work done anyway.

Peridot cracks the door open a fraction of an inch, eyes immediately going wide at the sight of him.
No. It couldn't--
She looks at her MID. Nope, same guy in front of her as it is in the profile picture attached to the chat.
The door only opens another fraction of an inch only so she can peer a little closer, expression completely agog.]
You-- But-- How--!?

Shaking off the look of shock on her face, she glances at him askance, brows raised. Try as she might to act otherwise, she's still a bit flustered.]
I mean... Not yet, no...
[She shuffles awkwardly, glancing around. Should she... open the door...? She always winds up at a loss during these social interaction things.]

[WHAT DO HARD FRUITS WITH SHELLS HAVE TO DO WITH ANY OF THIS?]
...Right. One moment.
[Peridot shuffles back into her room to grab the box she was packing, setting her confusion aside. She's finally reaching the point where she has decided that seeking explanations for every single odd turn of phrase she hears in conversation with one of these organics just isn't an efficient use of her time.]
[When she comes back to the door, she's all business again.]
We are headed to to the medical bay. The experimental limb enhancers that the Doctor and I have been working on are housed there.
no subject
Medbay, huh? That's kinda far. [He scratched the back of his head, yawning.] Mind if we take a shortcut?
no subject
A... short cut?
[What.]
Are you implying that there is another way to access the medical bay that I am somehow not aware of?
[Yeah RIGHT. She's explored all over this ship, Sans. NOT LIKELY.]
no subject
Finding one, he motioned again for Peridot to follow.]
Just this way, greenie.
[The door opened, but before either of them would get a look at the very-much-present dorm room inside, their feet planted in the door to the medical ward and en entirely different door shut behind them.]

Peridot goes totally rigid, glancing around the med-bay with wide, haunted eyes.]
W-w-w-WHAT? How did you-- How--?
[You are BREAKING HER MIND, SANS]
