[ Seeing how Mei lives on Chioni with all of four other people, when her dreams have her running to her balcony to be sick over the edge, she doesn't organize a block party afterwards to discuss it. Instead, she goes back inside and creates a cocoon out of the blankets on her bed. She tries to read, but there's a listlessness to her now. A gnawing in her stomach and an odd feeling that feels very... isolating. She shivers and opens up her TAB. There are different kinds of isolation, but the kind that reminds Mei of a cryogenic tube and being the last left alive is the kind that frightens her. She needs to know she isn't alone. ]

Is anyone else awake? Would you like to keep each other company? I woke up not feeling very well and I don't think I could fall asleep right now.

the medics said they had a few cases of people feeling sick. wasn't feeling so good myself.

i don't know if you heard about it, but there was a fire monster running about. made a pretty big mess, so i spent time helping out there.

how about you? how's research going?

Oh, no! I hope you're feeling better now.

I think I did hear something about that monster. Over on Kauto, right? As for me, I've been studying some rock samples that Jack helped me collect. I want to see how the weather has affected erosion and that sort of thing. The cause of the wild climate shifts here is really hard to pin down, but I like a mystery!

i've heard chioni is strange. extreme temperatures and all that.

but now there's that storm. bit spooky how it almost seemed to come out of nowhere. makes me wonder if something about it woke up that fire monster.

then again i have no idea what's going on. ;) felt that way since i got here.

It is, but that's why I enjoy studying it.

Yeah, I've felt that way too! A lot of questions that need answers.
