She's wearing all green, too; in addition, her lips are green -- but that's just because she has green lipstick on, not because her lips are naturally green.

She's levitating her device by way of creative use of her mutant powers, so at least people aren't getting an extreme close up of her face.]

Sooo, I guess I'm doing the multiverse and-slash-or space thing again. Cool. I mean, new places and worlds are kind of par for the course for me at this point, so I'm more fascinated than disturbed -- at least for the moment. I'll see how this shakes out.

[A beat. She is super chill right now.]

Anyway -- name's Lorna Dane, AKA Polaris, also on and off member of teams of the likes of X-Men and X-Factor.

[She says all of that in hopes that someone here will know at least one of those names. If not, oh...well?]

I've been poking around and seeing what I can, but if anyone wants to tell the newbie here the less obvious do-'s and dont'-s' of this place, I would be much obliged before I make a dumbass out of myself.

[Or, you know, people can start taking bets on how long it is before she gets in trouble, some way, some how.]

[He expects that she knows at least something about it, but then, he doesn't know what this older version of him that she knows might have told her, or anyone.

There haven't been any problems yet. Peter did warn me though about some method they have of nullifying powers if someone causes trouble.

[Guess why Peter had warned him about it.]

[She makes a face, but she probably doesn't have to ask what classifies as "trouble" in the eyes of whomever has that power.] I've kind of had enough of power loss -- either my own, or just seeing it with others -- to last a hundred multiverses and lifetimes. When you put it like that, it kind of sounds like we should be lucky 'they' didn't take them away as soon as we got here. [As much of an issue with that wording as she has.]

I don't know details of what happened, but he made it sound like if someone without powers did something like kill someone, there would be some form of punishment -- a day or two locked up somewhere -- but that if someone with powers did it, the punishment would be a day or two locked up somewhere and the implantation of a chip that nullifies their ability to use their powers.

[Which is also something he, unsurprisingly, doesn't care for either.]

He didn't seem to think it was very fair.

Well he's not wrong. [About it seeming unfair, she means.] But I don't think I'll be testing that soon. I'm hoping he didn't have that happen to himself and isn't speaking from experience.

He's not.

[Which is something Erik had noted at the time, too. He doesn't like that it's unfair like that, but he's also not willing to do something that would get his powers taken away, even temporarily.]

It was something that happened to someone else. He seemed very concerned with making sure I knew what could happen if there was any trouble.

[Working as a deterrent, a threat of the possibility of such a result, is probably also well enough.]

Always preferable than finding out the hard way. Anything else weird to know about here?

There are aliens.

[She may have figured that part out already. Especially when he mentioned that there's a way to nullify powers.]

Apparently everyone used to be on a spaceship, which crashed, and now we're on these planets.

[She nods slowly.]

We call aliens 'another day ending in Y', where I'm from. [A small laugh. He is from a different kind of place than she is.]

I'm kind of glad I missed the crash landing, it seems.

Where exactly are you from?

[There's a lot he doesn't know, it seems. She must be from farther along in the timeline than he is.]

I think we both should be.

I'm from California, but I've spent time all over, basically. [The X-Mansion back home, being in space for a while, Genosha, a lot of alternate universes -- ones in different times. It's a headache to think about sometimes.]

It could be worse. [He's been through worse. He's a survivor.]

That story sounds familiar. [He's spent time all over, too.]

Sounds like we could swap stories for days, then.

[And then, she considers something else entirely for a moment.]

What do you go by here, anyway?

[Because it's probably weird to call him 'dad' right?]

I'm sure we could.

[One thing he's learned about this place is that not everyone is from the same time and place. They all have plenty they could share, he has no doubt of that.]

Erik. [Not that there aren't plenty here who know him by other things too.]

Noted. [About what he goes by here, she means. She adjusts so that her legs are draped over the arm of the chair she's on and her back is resting against the other arm. What is sitting properly any longer? She's getting lazy and comfortable.]

We should do that sometime. Not having a regular schedule here yet, my time's pretty open.

I live here. There's plenty of space if you wanted to live here too. Then I'm sure we could find time for whatever we want to do.

I think that's going to be my plan, actually. Closest thing to home as I'll probably get here. Maybe we should get in some time in the danger room while we're at it.

It is useful to have. Practice is never a bad thing.

Agreed. Plus, even better when you have the same skillsets. We might even teach each other new tricks.

[she nods.] Back home, Charles taught me the most of how to use my powers.

Charles taught me a few things too.

[Though he wouldn't say Charles taught him the most. That honor, somewhat dubiously, should probably go to Shaw.]

Sometimes I wonder if he's actually five hundred years old and has taught every mutant at least some. [ she says it jokingly and fondly. ]

He'd be even more insufferable.

[But it still, strangely, is said almost fondly. They may have had disagreements, but he never intended -- or wanted -- to hurt Charles.]
