Whoa! [Hunk laughs] Holographic interface, awesome! This is way better than possessed mermaid planet tech. A little creepier, though. Uh, no offense. Just.. you know. Being teleported away from people I was standing right next to without being asked is a little rude where I come from.

On the up side, really digging the local food options so far. Tons better than space goo, not that I don't hold a respect for nutritionally dense jello with an oatmeal-like consistency. Here's to hoping it isn't gonna make me start chanting about how safe and warm I am.

And hey, speaking of, fingers crossed that I got tossed into here with my buddies. Anyone seen any other paladins of Voltron laying around? Well, hopefully not laying around. Hopefully, you know, standing. Like healthy non-injured people, which they mostly were like five seconds ago.

[Of course, Hunk has to go and totally derail Pidge's thought process by bringing out this incredible floating cube that is echoing back what Hunk says. And somehow Pidge isn't sitting on the kitchen counter anymore; she's running around in circles just underneath where the cube is floating, stars in her eyes.]

Is this from them?! Did they make this?! How's it work?! Can we make more?!

It works using whatever they used to make those headsets that hack trees. [He grins and gives Pidge a nudge.] I bet if anyone can figure it out, you can.

[She's not going to stop moving around and poking the cube from all sides, not for a while.]

This is incredibly advanced and so mathematically elegant and just lightyears ahead of anything I've ever even heard about on Earth, even more than the castle ship and it's incredible! An entire race can create something like this?! They must share this kind of knowledge and skill with the rest of the universe, right? I mean it'd be ridiculous to think that they wouldn't be willing to teach anyone, but with this kind of science it's no wonder that people think magic truly exists!! Maybe it's like energy transference at a molecular level from the brain into the raw materials and not quintessence like the Alteans use...

[And her mouth is just going to run on and on and on and on...]

[Hunk just grins as Pidge babbles -- good things almost always came from these rants. Or, well. Sometimes they just ended up in obsessions that were ultimately unfulfilled, so-- oh, he'd better hand out a warning.]

Oh, and FYI, never buy a video game system without a TV. Just.. words from future you to past you, alright?

Of course I like it! [She even has to interrupt her babbling just to point that much out.] Can I keep this? Or borrow it, I guess, if it's yours, I really just wanna get a closer look at it, try to reverse engineer something-

[His comment about the video game system stops her again, and this time Pidge turns to give him an owlish, wide-eyed blink.]

It's yours, man. And yeah, anything you can learn about it would be awesome. We can apply the energy sourcing to our engineering work maybe.

[You've filled her with joy, Hunk.] Exactly! Oh man, you have no idea how much I've missed being able to talk shop with someone who gets it.

Wait, I bought a video game? Somewhere out in space?

[ The oven dinged; he turned around to pull the cookies out of the oven. ] Yeah, uh, it's kinda a long story, but yeah. And Lance got a cow.

[He started to explain the space mall as he scooped the cookies onto a cooling rack, from his cooking at Vrepit Sal's from what he heard about Lance and Pidge routing around in a fountain for change for a video game machine.

As soon as he got the new batch of cookies in the oven he dusted off his hands.]

... aaand that's about when you realized there were no TV's in our magical flying science castle.

[Pidge's attention is locked on to the story. Because for one thing, it's kind of amazing to think that a mall out in space could still be so similar to one on Earth. For another, there are only so many video game consoles that she could have possibly been so excited about. And knowing that makes her eyes go kind of big and hopeful.

Until Hunk gets to the part about the TV. That part makes her visibly sag with disappointment.

...But her eyes still seem to be lit up and that's because there's something very important Pidge must know.]

Hunk, do you remember specifically what the video game I got was called?

[ He scratched his head. ] Uh, no. But it came with some sort of special glove?

[Cue the really big eyes.]

Was it Mercury Gameflux 2?? Please tell me it wasn't Mercury Gameflux 2.

... am I a bad friend if I say I don't remember? I remember something about the glove giving you extra lives?

[And this? This right here? This is Pidge leaping over to grab Hunk by the shoulders with THE BIGGEST anime EYES IN THE WORLD.] I GOT IT AND I COULDN'T PLAY IT?!?!

Y-yeah... [he clears his throat] You were pretty upset about that, actually.

[SHE'S UPSET ABOUT IT NOW, TOO.

Not angry-upset. More just... disappointed-upset.]

[That gets Hunk grinning again. He gives Pidge a little nudge] Tried to warn you, man.

[She makes a face, slumping back against the nearest counter.] Only if he cried like a baby.

[Hunk is one of the only people she'll ever allow to do that. :|]

Well, even if we did, nothing would be broadcasting to them. The only things that send or receive signals of any kind are the TABs.
