My name is Charles Xavier, I hope everyone is alright or on their way to a full recovery. With the crash and our impending trip to the center of the Hub, I realize a number of groups will form and make their way on their own.

I am a mutant, I run Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. As such, I would ask that other mutants, other gifted individuals- especially those still mastering their abilities- stay with me. It would ease my mind to know others are safe and that we would be able to use this situation to help grow any abilities you wish to master.

It's only a request but if some prefer, they are welcome not to. I'm concerned that those that don't have full control yet might be more of a danger to non-gifted people though.

I'm a telepath, I can read or communicate mentally, alter memories or erase them or return them. I can sometimes even control another persons actions. None of which I've done here, of course

My DNA is different from normal humans, making me a mutant. And gifted, I mean powers. Mine, specifically, is telepathy.

so something like super humans in comics, then. but what do you do with the others you find? how do you teach them, i mean. what would you do say if somebody i knew didn't have powers before, but were given them by gods or something. do they even count?

I suppose it would be something like that, yes. When we find new mutants, especially those struggling, we'll go to them and their families, if that applies, and offer them a place at my school. Food, board, and education covered at no cost. Then we see what the new student is capable of, just what their ability is or their range, and we work from there.

They wouldn't exactly be mutants by my worlds standards but I would still consider it my responsibility to help them.

I am certainly curious about what your definition of mutant may be. Is it more of a scientific definition or something that is slang related?

More scientific. Our DNA is mutated, making us humanoid but not humans.

Was this caused by man or some other being? A science experiment involving radiation and the like or would you say it is just nature taking its course? Not exactly a mutation but perhaps humanity moving to another stage?
