[She’s definitely glad she went to Earth instead of staying in Arlia; there’s only so much you can do in a rural village and her stay on Earth has at least taught her how to use a communicator. Though some other technological inventions are still an anomaly to her, she’ll figure it out eventually.

Hello everyone! My name is Rena. Rena Lanford. I’m sorry for interrupting, but I’d like to ask a few questions if you have the time to spare. It shouldn’t take too much of your time!

[She takes in a quick, deep breathe before continuing.]

First of all, is it possible to venture out of your official job position? Like assist in other sections? I mean I’d still do the job I was assigned foremost, but I feel like it’s such a waste to not use healing Symbology, you know?

Second, since people are from other worlds, does “magic” seem familiar to any of you? From what I read in stories it seems similar to Symbology so I’d like to compare them!

Lastly: is there any way to get any items from back home? I was sure I had my hairpin, but I seem to have misplaced it…

[And it was a gift from her mother so she’d really like that back.]

Well, we do have the technology but I prefer to stay on my own planet. Nothing personal, I just have my business down there.

You're not on the clock right now, are you?

Yeah, I definitely understand! Space-faring isn't exactly everyone's cup of tea. [A pause.] What do you do on your planet anyway?

I am, but it's not a job where I need to be around all the time. I'm just playing some music right now.

I'm a DJ! DJ on the ship, too! What about you?

Wow, no wonder you're an expert at music! Did you make all the music you play yourself?

And I guess you could say I'm studying to be an army doctor? But on the ship I'm a cleaning staff for the Ingress.

[She sheepishly laughs; that's such a huge difference in professions.]

Not all of it. I do make my own music, but I don't play it all the time. Gotta have a variety, you know?

[he rocks back in his chair, clapping his hands together and letting out a laugh.]

That's amazing! How are you finding your studies so far?

I guess that's true! How do you choose which music to play though? Since I think it'd be tough to choose one with the variety of people on board...

[She looks at the screen worriedly as it looks like he stumbles back in his chair, but apparently he was just laughing so she smiles in return.]

It's been going well, actually! It's been an interesting experience to see how this healing power actually works on people.

I randomize them! The only way I actively choose is if someone has a request.

[he tries to keep it fair!]

Healing power? How does that work?

What if you don't have the music that they request?

[That seems to be a problem given how many different people are aboard!]

Well, we have something called Symbology in my world and basically we use symbols that are somewhere on our body to perform various abilities.

[To be honest, she's still not too sure of how the symbols are able to perform it, but she'll leave that to the scholars.]

Since I'm a Nedian I seem to have a strong affinity to healing Symbology and all I really have to do is concentrate my power to the wound for a certain amount of time and it's usually as good as new. --That's the simplified version though.

[If he wants the scientific version and all the other nitpicky details of what she can/can't heal it would take some time.]

Then I can only play something from the same genre and hope it scratches their itch!

[lúcio listens carefully, clearly intrigued.]

Are they like-- tattoos?

You must have a wide range of genres if you're able to accomplish that! How many do you currently have?

[She furrows her brow at that; it's kinda true but at the same time not--?]

I guess you could say that? It has to be a specific pattern from what I heard though.

I haven't counted, but I think I have at least one for every genre!

That sounds pretty rad, my dude. Is it rude to ask to see how it works? I'm sorry if it is!

And how many genres are there exactly?

[She smiles, he doesn't have to be so polite!]

Not at all! Did you want to see an example of healing or just any sort of symbology?

Quite a few. I can send you a list otherwise we'd be here all day.

[Closing her eyes, she begins to chant a short incantation as she focuses her energy. At first, a single ball of light can be seen on the screen before another similar light appears next to it. A few additional small lights appear seemingly following a path of it being vertical before becoming horizontal at the top. Once it becomes horizontal however they all burst at once forming a music note symbol that dissipates after a few seconds.]

It's... sort of like that.

[If it seems like she's somewhat out of breath--it's because she is. Keeping multiple balls of lights visible for a period of time is a lot tougher than she expected.]

That's amazing! You do all that yourself? I can't imagine how much skill and concentration something like that might need.

[he is Truly Awed.]

Not at all! It takes some practice, but I believe even you can perform it if you're able to procure the correct symbols!

Oh man! Oh man! You gotta show me how to do that some time!

Definitely! More people with healing powers would be helpful in the long run.

But, uh--I'm not too sure of the symbols at the moment, sorry...
