[the opening of the message sounds surprised, like she wasn't expecting it to work]
Ah yes--
[she hasn't really talked to a lot of people. To the few that she has spoken with, the soft voice of the sword spirit sounds different. It'smissing the modulation shaky for one thing, and she seems a little disoriented. It might be easy to mistake Fi as someone new until she continues]
If there is anyone with some spare time, it would seem that I require some assistance? I am... Uncertain? To my current location, but my MID appears to be in working order. [she's not entirely sure how, considering it's not on her wrists. It doesn't matter, that she can still use it like she could when she was herself is a relief]
...
D-does anyone have any suggestions as to how to stand under one's own power?
[ooc: she floats everywhere, gravity is a novel concept to her. A companion post to her log comment]

in 300 meters, turn right]Damage remains superficial; it appears that only the surface layer has been affected by my fall. [a pause. It seems that asking her questions seems to be a good way of distracting her: she drops the previous topic and immediately shifts gears]
Where would you like me to begin?
no subject
Where to begin...? Uh, well...how about your home? What's it like?
no subject
It is not my home; it is simply the world where I was created. 'Home' implies a familiar connection to a location and is one that most people associate with a place which they wish to return to. I must return as part of my duty given by Her Grace.
But if it is a description of the world that I am from, then it is a land of large variation. Most humans live in the sky alongside the Loftwing as per Her Grace's wishes. Now that the darkness that was Imprisoned within the Surface has been purified, I feel with a 90% possibility that some people will return to the Surface once more... No, it is 100% certain that they will return to the Surface and create their own kingdom.
no subject
Duty? You've been conscripted into service?
Your world...sounds like a nice place. At least now that this Imprisoned guy is gone.
no subject
I am the servant of Her Grace. Though there are knights in Skyloft, I am not affiliated with them.
... So it has been said before. It is home for my Master and the Spirit Maiden at his side, but it is not a home for me though I must return to it nonetheless.
[it's said very quietly. After a couple of seconds;]
There is a hollow feeling in my chest. It is unfamiliar to me... Is this 'longing'?
no subject
[That really did sound like 'longing' to him. Wanting a place to belong? A place you could truly call 'home?']
[All familiar feelings to him.]
[He gets moving again.]
Sounds more like being 'homesick' if you ask me. And could blame you? I'd miss such a nice and peaceful world too!
Hang on, I'm almost there...! I think I'm coming up on you now!
no subject
[home had so many connotations about it that Fi could not relate to. It felt... Inaccurate. Yes, using that term to refer to the world she hailed from was inaccurate and she finds solace in the familiarity of observations]
... [now that he was closer, she can narrow down her location. And she can be spotted, sitting on the ground, a shawl similar in appearance to her normal wings draped across her shoulders. Fi stares at the newcomer and... Does not recognise him. Is this the person who was speaking with her?]
no subject
Hey, are you Fi? It's me, Darin.
Show me, where does it hurt?
no subject
You are new.
...
The damage is superficial. [she holds her hands out for him to inspect nonetheless. They're red and scratched and she suspects her legs are similarly hurt. But she already feels the beating in her chest (heart, her heart) slowing and breathing is a little easier-] This response indicates... Relief?
no subject
[Then again, Darin's new to space in general. Maybe she's just adjusting differently. It's entirely possible. He offers her a smile.]
Yeah, I'm new. Only been here for a few days. But I couldn't ignore a call for help.
[He takes her hands gently and inspects them. There's some scratches here and there, but she seems okay.]
Looks like you've got some scrapes and cuts, but nothing too bad. I can get you back onto the ship, clean out any cuts, and bandage you up.
[Still holding her by the hands gently, he starts to stand, keeping himself crouched.]
Can you stand, Fi? I can help.
no subject
[her question is cut off when Darin takes her hands. Fi flinches at the contact with a gasp, startled at the sensation. It is very different from the ground beneath her, is human contact. Link had held the Master Sword in his hands but she had never actually touched another person]
...
[there's a couple of awkward breaths before she shifts. Movement wasn't difficult - moving her arms and legs came naturally - but between unfamiliar contact and the weird sensation of having weight, it takes her a little while to actually start standing. Though she's still incredibly wobbly, even after getting to her feet]
no subject
If you're having trouble standing, I can carry you to the Med Bay.
Would that be easier for you?
As for the captains...I can't say if they've changed the policy or not. I've only been here for a few days. I'm still sorting out everything. I'm just a humble master blacksmith.
no subject
They had mentioned understanding though I was not aware that they meant it in such a way.
[Said quietly, as if to herself. Then she looks up when he mentions the captains... There's a faint smile when he finishes, just the corners of her mouth uplifting] Does using 'Master' in one's title constitute as showing humility?
no subject
[Darin is confused. She looked just like a normal girl.]
Alright, how about this...? Let's see if we can get you walking. If you get too tired or if it's too much for you, I'll carry you the rest of the way. How does that sound?
[With a warm smile, he offers Fi his arm.]
We'll take things slow.
[And that warm smile spreads wider into a grin.]
Hey, I'm as humble as they come. But I also won't deny my skills in the forge. That'd be like denying my own soul.
no subject
Due to the Lamaria's blessing, I am not currently myself. I was created for a single task and for that, touch and smell were unnecessary.
[she explains as she reaches out to awkwardly (it comes off as rather dainty, because hands are a novel concept too) settle it on Darin's arm. Her knees are already starting to shake, like her legs are unaccustomed to supporting any sort of weight, let alone hers]
Very well... I will try.
[how does one broach the topic of being a sword when you weren't... currently a sword? She's not entirely sure and while she would have simply continued onward now, some emotion holds her back... Fi is fast realising why Her Grace might have decided to create her without the ability to feel emotions; they seem to be serving to hinder more than help]
no subject
[He was surprised. This girl seemed increasingly frail, almost like she was ill or something. But she didn't look sick. Instead she just seemed like she couldn't control her limbs. Like normal sensations were...not normal to her.]
[Space was weird.]
You keep saying things like being 'created' instead of 'born.' Why?
The way you're talking, it just sort of sounds like you were built...like a weapon or something.
no subject
I was created to be a guide for the Hero of the world that I am from.
[she stops and looks up at Darin. Her expression - though slightly flushed from exertion - is unnaturally blank]
As his guide, I reside within the Goddess Sword that Her Grace left for him. And so, Darin Altway, I have never experienced touch nor have I any use for human emotions. Such things were unnecessary for my task.
no subject
Wait wait wait...let me...let me get this straight...
You're the spirit of a legendary weapon? A hero's legendary weapon?
But...for some reason you're not a spirit anymore. You're a person. Which is why you're so baffled by everything that's happening right now?
[Sure, that sounds absolutely crazy. About as crazy as a human man housing half of the soul of a literal God of Destruction. Point is, Darin's not about to wave off anything that involves goddesses or the like.]
If you're supposed to guide the hero, why are emotions and being able to feel so bad?
*wiimote vibrates angrily as Fi tl;drs*
You are only 30% correct in your assessments. Allow me to explain it more thoroughly.
[Fi wants to move but none of her limbs are reacting the way she means them to. The weakness in her legs alone make her natural movements impossible; the leaps and spins she'd performed so thoughtlessly seemed like a faraway goal now]
I am a spirit that dwells within a sacred sword crafted by the Guardian Goddess of the land for her chosen Champion. At the time that I was summoned by the Ingress, the sword has achieved it's true form and power by the Hero's hand. My current predicament may have something to do with the Lamarians that reside here and have recently finished performing a ceremony to honour their dead.
But that is cause for my confusion.
... [there's an air of a teacher reprimanding a student in her tone]
I was not created with human emotions and sensations because they were unnecessary, not because they are 'bad'. It is not my duty to determine the merits of such things, I was merely to guide the Hero.
[and she fixes Darin with another one of her Piercing Stares]
As a blacksmith, you should surely understand. A weapon does not need to understand the will of it's Master, it does not need the sensation of touch nor smell. It is a tool that will be used as it's Master sees fit, whether for good or for evil.
*resynchs wii remote to system so my bomb throws become accurate again*
I never thought I'd be arguing this point with a sword but...
I disagree. Weapons aren't just tools. They're not something we can just shelve or scrap or sell when we don't have a use for them anymore. A weapon is both a reflection of the creator and the one who wields it. If the weapon doesn't fit the one who wields it, both the weapon and the wielder can both destroyed. For that matter, if the person forging the weapon doesn't put their very heart and soul into the process, then why bother in the first place.
Swords, weapons, aren't tools. They're extensions of their master and the forger's will given form.
You were given a purpose and...well, I'm sad to see that you weren't given the capacity to understand just how valuable you are.
no subject
[she shakes her head]
The value of the Master Sword is immeasurable. Blessed by the Golden Goddesses and the Guardian Goddess, it is a blade that no evil can ever touch... But it is precisely because of it's power that it must not become involved in the disputes of Man. Based off of observations, it is difficult for most mortals to turn away from those in trouble or to recognise dangerous situations and react accordingly. [there's a small smile as she says this. Is she making fun of people she knows? She might just find amusement in the irony]
It is not my place to determine right from wrong. The only thing I can do is support my Master and to seal away the darkness that would threaten the land. Nothing more.
no subject
What if your Master decided to use you to do bad things? What if he chose not to seal away the darkness that threatened your world? Would you be forced to just...accept that?
no subject
No one with evil in their hearts may touch the Master Sword. Only those who have proven themselves suitable to be the Hero can wield this weapon.
If he fails to prove himself, then he is not suitable to wield my power.
[the words are delivered smoothly and without any hesitation. The connotations behind the words are a little unsettling. What would happen if no Hero appears? If he proves himself but is unsuitable?
Well, she doesn't know the outcomes yet. She simply knows that it will be Dealt With]
no subject
I mean, alright. You were forged with a clear purpose. So, either this Hero comes along, wields you, and saves the world, banishes the darkness, yadda yadda...
Or you...what? Just sit there? And wait? For what? Your options are to wait for a proven Hero or the world falls into darkness. And for that matter, what's the criteria for the Hero?
...I'm not trying to give you a hard time, Fi. To be honest? I've never had a conversation with a sword before and I have pretty much a million questions. You're fascinating. But...at the same time?
It's...kind of sad. I hope that your Hero is someone who can appreciate you as more than just a tool.
no subject
... I do not believe there will be any sort of problem. [her expression softens] Rather, it might be easier if he does not consider me at all. He will have a great many trials to overcome. He will meet others who need his help and who will help him.
If it makes it easier for him to fulfil his destiny, I do not mind being forgotten. After all I have completed my task. I will not be awake when we see each other again.
