[Dealing with people face to face is hard, even if Pidge were to do it via communicator. She doesn’t know anyone here, and she’s hesitant to even be addressing the entirety of the Moira’s crew all at once like this. So she opts for the easier mode of communication: text. It’s like talking to the internet that way, and… Well, to be perfectly frank, that’s easier for her to handle.]

Hello, Moira crew. [Behind the screen she winces. Even she can tell that sounds awkward. But she presses on.] I’m new to this ship, but not new to space travel - trust me - but I am trying to gather some more information than what was given to me. Hoping someone onboard can help me out.

First: If the word “Voltron” means anything to you, contact me.

Second: If you know anyone with the last name “Holt”, contact me ASAP.

[There’s another hesitant moment before the typing resumes.] I can help out with any tech stuff in exchange for any useful information you’ve got. I’m good at it, and I’ve worked with alien tech before. The stuff here is new to me, but they gave me a job that works with it pretty closely, so I’m pretty sure I can figure it out soon enough. So: you help me, I help you. Fair, right?

[And there's a very. Long. Pause.]

You?? They-- Why??

Because I've got no idea.

[She tries. She really does try. But in the end... she fails.

And ends up kind of snickering. Trying so hard not to actually bust out laughing.]

D-Do you have to be a cook, or- or can you just wash dishes?

[Laugh it up, Pidge. At least one of you thinks this is hilarious.]

Let's hope it's the latter. I'd like to not set the ship on fire.

You should tell 'em, then. I don't think anybody wants that.

That'd take actually talking to one of the captains, apparently. And from what I've heard, that doesn't happen often.

What- Seriously?!

Great. [That's the most audible eyeroll in the world.] One more thing to really help us trust them.

[And he's not surprised to hear that's her opinion. But then he's at the door of the room, and knocking.]

Pidge? It's me.

They should at least find a better job for you than as a cook.

[Because come on. The man's a muscley beast. Surely some other department needs that more than the kitchen.

Her response when she hears him at the door is an automatic-] Come in, it's open.

[There's pretty much nothing in the room at the moment beyond the basics. But she does have her paladin armor piled up at the end of the bed while she wears her usual top over the thermals that were issued. Shiro will probably notice that she's barefoot while she sits on the edge of the bed, fiddling with the MID.]

[And come in he does. With a slightly lopsided smile of agreement and relief and she's here.]

[There are lots of things to notice. Lots of things he probably does realize and take in, but the most important thing is his teammate. A teammate who is, upon him stepping into the room, getting an almost crushing hug.]

I'm sure we'll figure something out.

[You precious smartass child.]

[Of all the people to be stuck on a strange new alien ship with, Shiro pretty much makes the top of Pidge's list. So as soon as Pidge sees him in the doorway of her new room, that same feeling of deep relief floods right back into her. Enough that she's immediately getting up off the bed and moving to meet him halfway. That almost bone-crushing hug comes as a bit of a surprise, but the physicality of it is just... incredibly reassuring.]

I'm so glad you're here. [She even chuckles a little without letting go of her friend.] Even if you do end up burning the place down.

I'm glad you're here, too.

[Someone familiar. Someone he doesn't have to explain anything to. A familiar face -- who already knows how messed up everything is. Sure, he knew she was here, from talking to her, but it's another thing entirely to actually hug her like this.]

[In armor that is undamaged. Minus the boots, but undamaged.]

I won't burn the whole ship down. Not before you fix their wormhole problem.

[That comment makes Pidge grin as she finally pulls back a little to look up at his face.]

Or I'll fix it right before you burn the ship down. [Her grin grows just a little, pitching it into the teasing side.] It could happen.

[Wonder of wonders, he actually smiles back at her.]

Either way, you end up saving the day. How's that feel?

[Her grin grows a bit.] Sounds like a lot of pressure.

Then again, we're already defenders of the universe, right?

If anyone can handle pressure, I think it's the person who broke into the Garrison repeatedly.

[He says it with complete and total fondness, too. Like he's proud of her for breaking and entering.]

[To be fair, he should be proud of her. Because she did that so well and so often that she actually had to go undercover to keep doing it.

Still, Pidge rolls her eyes and waves it off like it was nothing.]

Only when motivated.

So you're okay, right? What happened with the wormhole going nuts didn't mess you up too much, did it?

Uh huh.

[Wave it off all you want, kiddo. He knows better.]

... Wormhole? What wormhole?

[That makes Pidge blink and raise an eyebrow slightly.]

The one we used to get away from Zarkon, remember? Or that we tried to use, before it turned all red and crazy.

We... what?

[Is there a chair? Can he sit down?]

We weren't anywhere near him. [Were they?]

[There's... the bed?

And there's Pidge starting to look concerned.]

We went in to save Allura... You don't remember that?

I... no.

The last thing I remember is... Allura threw me off the ship. Before it took off.

[Sorry if she's staring, Shiro. But... she's definitely looking pretty concerned now.]

And then... next thing you knew you were here? [Pidge frowns a little.] You don't remember anything else? Not even hazily?

[Yeah, he's going to sit down for this.]

Yeah. Next thing I knew... I was here. And looking for all of you. [He shakes his head to the next part. There's nothing there.]
