[Dealing with people face to face is hard, even if Pidge were to do it via communicator. She doesn’t know anyone here, and she’s hesitant to even be addressing the entirety of the Moira’s crew all at once like this. So she opts for the easier mode of communication: text. It’s like talking to the internet that way, and… Well, to be perfectly frank, that’s easier for her to handle.]

Hello, Moira crew. [Behind the screen she winces. Even she can tell that sounds awkward. But she presses on.] I’m new to this ship, but not new to space travel - trust me - but I am trying to gather some more information than what was given to me. Hoping someone onboard can help me out.

First: If the word “Voltron” means anything to you, contact me.

Second: If you know anyone with the last name “Holt”, contact me ASAP.

[There’s another hesitant moment before the typing resumes.] I can help out with any tech stuff in exchange for any useful information you’ve got. I’m good at it, and I’ve worked with alien tech before. The stuff here is new to me, but they gave me a job that works with it pretty closely, so I’m pretty sure I can figure it out soon enough. So: you help me, I help you. Fair, right?

"We" as in all of us, right? [She swears she's gonna find something that'll put this man to sleep.]

Good. [Pidge even nods firmly. Space Dad is in major need of a check up and there's no way he's getting out of it.]

So what else have you learned since you got here?

... They have ice cream, a bad sense of humor, and none of their tech works like they were expecting it too.

I... may have spent a lot of time trying to contact you guys.

[Pidge just blinks at him for a second, mentally filing this... very random assortment of information away. But then she smiles a little and shakes her head.]

I'm starting to think that no one knows how anything on this ship works.

But ice cream as in real ice cream? Or stuff that just kind of looks like it?

[He would have done more digging, but trying to find them had been the most important thing.]

It's sounding that way, yeah.

... Real ice cream, Pidge. Promise.

[There's a thoughtful pause.] ...And where exactly do we find the ice cream?

Nah, probably not. Nothing's ever easy for us, is it?

[With a slight, lopsided smile in apology.]

The kitchen. A guy named Lucio showed me where it was.

[After bringing him a bowl and watching him basically inhale it.]

[In spite of herself, Pidge actually kind of grins. It's a sad truth, but there's definitely no denying it.] I'm not so sure anything will ever be easy again.

Lucio? [Pidge's head tilts slightly in thought.] Did he have dreadlocks and cool roller skates?

[That's the spirit. Even if it's kind of a depressing topic.] Hey, maybe some mission, we'll get a job like "leaf raking". That seems about as simple as anything.

[He's kidding, of course.]

... Yeah, he did. You met him?

[They have to cope somehow, right?] Yeah, that'll definitely make Zarkon afraid of us.

Yeah, I bumped into him when I tried to check out the Ingress room.

Maybe he has a... fall phobia?

[You tried, Shiro.]

Lucky you. That's a lot better than how I met him.

[... You did try, Shiro. Pidge will just gently pat him on the shoulder.] Or a leaf one.

Really? How'd you meet him?

[And now he looks even more sheepish.]

I... may have threatened him. A little. I didn't know where I was or who he was.

[Pidge grins. It's fun to see Shiro not being so.... dad-like.]

...Okay, but that sounds pretty fair. I mean, ending up here out of the blue is really not cool.

I'm pretty sure I'm forgiven. Since the ice cream happened and all.

He seems like the kind of guy to not hold a grudge.

Yeah. He seems pretty chill. He showed me some of the tech on his skates, too.

Yeah? You going to help him with some mods?

[Because he knows you Pidge.]

[She shrugs, still grinning.]

[As he grins in return. He isn't even remotely surprised -- it's nice, though. To have a constant.]

Because it'd be dumb if you were. [Not to point out the obvious, but... The obvious needs to be pointed out.]

You saw it, right? I can think of at least seven different modifications for the lions using tech like that.

[No, he's not.] I saw his skates. I don't think anything else came up.

[She knows he's not. So Pidge just gives him a big, shit-eating grin.] You'll heal.

It's some pretty great stuff. Replicating it shouldn't be too hard if I can just get a hold of some workable material. It'll be worth learning about.

[As he reaches over to fluff her hair once.]

It looks like there's a lot of supplies here. Finding material shouldn't be hard.

[You are a dad and a big brother all rolled into one, Shiro. Her poof of hair is undisturbed by the fluffing. So take that.]

Seems that way. I've got some equipment to rebuild before I do anything major, though.
