Uh... hey. [A slight pause, like he's not sure what to say.] I'm not used to talking for this kind of thing... I guess... I'm new here? The name's Ginko. Looks like I'm stuck here with the rest of you for a while, so I'd really like to get to know as many people as possible.

I've been assigned to be one of your medics. Hopefully I won't meet too many people because of that, though.

[But if this is the kind of place he thinks it is, he doesn't have his hopes up about that.

Ah... if anyone here recognizes the name Edensphere... I'd definitely like to meet you. You might know me as Cloud, in that case.

Space mice?

[And right on cue, a quartet of mice climb up onto her shoulders. They don't look too different from earth mice, other than their fur colors. And they're smart, too -- one of them waves at the camera!]

Hoo... I see. [They look like your basic earth mouse, really, aside from the color. He wasn't sure what he was expecting 'space mice' to look like, really.]

They're pretty smart. Did you train them, or...?

[Actually, he's not sure if he needs to talk to the mice. What is the socially acceptable way to greet mice, halp.]

Not at all. But our minds are linked, so I would imagine they've already learned quite a lot from me.

[They don't look offended, so you're probably in the clear!]

[Tonight the role of Mr. Spock will be played by Ginko, apparently.]

No, this is a unique situation. We were all sealed in the same cryo-pod together. Evidently, being contained in a common stasis field for such a period of time can create a empathic bond, of sorts.

[Don't. Don't ask her to explain more than that. That's about how well she understands it.]

[If he catches her hesitation, he doesn't remark on it.

He doesn't understand much of her explanation either, but he kind of gets the gist of it. He thinks.]

Ah... that's pretty amazing! [No seriously, he's kind of excited about it. He's never heard of anything like this before and it's so cool.] I'd love to meet them sometime, if you don't mind. And yourself as well, in person.

Oh, that would be nice! In fact, there's a number of other new arrivals I would like to get to know better as well...

It's a drink made by soaking cured leaves from an evergreen shrub in hot water. It might sound odd, but it's very good.

[It's tea. It's ~~a keysmash name for~~ a kind of space tea.]

Oh! Yeah, I know what that is. I call it something else, but... I'm sure we can find a variety you like.

[He can't imagine the ship doesn't have tea, ok. It's here somewhere, they will find it.]

Oh? What is it called here? And what kind of varieties are there?

Tea, and well... there are a lot. I don't know exactly how many kinds they have on the ship, but there are some that are flavored with dried fruit, and they can have a different taste depending on how the leaves are prepared, and what leaves are used.
