Hi all, just some quick housekeeping:

• I've doubled the security on the Mako. Fair warning: any attempts to hack its console will result in consequences. This is not a challenge! If you need it for anything, please get in touch with me first.
  
  
• It seems I'm your new Assistant Head of Tower duties, with Ryuuzaki functioning as our Head. I'm looking forward to working with all of you from here on out.
  
  
• I've already spoken with Ryuuzaki regarding my transfer from Engineering to Assistant Head of Tower duties, but I still haven't managed to locate how I was approved and placed in the role in the first place, as it was an application process. If anyone has an idea, please let me know.
  
  
• I was absent for a month in cryosleep, so my apologies for not being completely abreast of every on-board situation for the time being. Unfortunately, I have nothing new to add to cryosleep: I don't know what brought it on, I didn't go anywhere, and I don't know what stopped it.

[Because the last time he had a job like this, he had comfortable spinny chairs... and a big open pit in the middle of the floor a few feet away that he had to take care not to glide right into.]

When you're not running, I'd assume.

Still, it's important to sit down sometimes. If everything goes well, we may not even have much to do past the daily functions of the ship itself.

[Which would be, from certain points of view, completely terrible. Peace is a nice condition to live in, and utterly boring if sorting through other people's chaos gives your life meaning. But anyway....]

Would you say that anything had gone well since you found yourself here?

Running, walking, crouching — you know. The basics.

Engineering was mostly crouching, working with my hands — before the Moira, the only thing I generally sat down for was to write reports. Other than that? I was on my feet, or dead asleep.

[Or just actually dead. And that was a lie; who sleeps?]

As for things going well? Never. I think Ratchet put it best: anything that happens, good or bad, be prepared for the fallout. Standing definitely suits me better.
