[ There's more than one reason why Bruce chooses text over audio or video, but right now, the main one is because he wants to avoid any confrontations. There's still a good chance they might come, if people recognize him by name alone, but this way he keeps a certain amount of distance. ]
Hi. This is Bruce Banner. Given the current state of the ship, I've been trying to think of ways to cope with the cold that seems to have settled pretty much everywhere. I don't know nearly enough to suggest how to fix it, besides it doesn't seem like there's much anyone could do in that regard - but we can still try to help each other through this.
My suggestion would be to find one single space, large enough for the whole crew, but still not so large that the cold disperses too much. Preferably somewhere that's dry - so no pool or mess hall, for instance. We should all move there temporarily, take as many clothes, blankets and pillows as we can, and settle in together. It'll help us all keep warm a little better, I think. Not to mention we might avoid life support going down on places at random, if we can get the captains to focus most of whatever energy there is in maintaining the environment in one room.
[ AND because he's sure some people will know him by name... ]
By the way, in case you're wondering: yes, I'm that Bruce Banner. Ask your questions, if you have any.
Otherwise, feel free to suggest some places for us to settle in.

text;
I'm just saying, some might not like the idea of sharing space for who knows how long. Other than that though, I think it's probably the best idea I've heard so far. I'm all for it if we can find a good place for it

So far the library's the best suggestion. It's dry, decently isolated, and plenty of room for those who don't want to be too close to the rest of the group.

Sounds like the best suggestion--I can't think of a better one, at least. Plus there'll be books to keep us entertained, so that's a bonus, right? I'm definitely liking this idea.
[ His only other one was to hang around in his armour at all times and enjoy the benefits of the body heat regulation that it has. But that doesn't really help anyone but himself, and he'd like to pitch in for others, too. ]

[ He'll be fine, even if he ends up freezing up-- other people, not so much. ]
Well yes, they'll provide both entertainment and a certain level of insulation. It might not be much, but every little bit helps.

Right. And hey, it'll give us all a chance to get to know each other better, too. That'll be a distraction from the cold. If we're trying to look at positives here, anyway.
[ He can't speak for Bruce, but Wash is definitely trying to be optimistic here. ]

Well, we all seem to have pretty interesting stories to tell, coming from different worlds and all. It'll keep us entertained, I think.

[ And now he's worried about these things. This conversation is not doing much for his anxieties. HOWEVER, he presses on like he's totally cool and not running over ever bad possible situation they could run into. ]
Yeah... I mean, maybe it'd be a good idea to get some people used to travelling on spaceships to take a thorough look around, see if they can find the problem(s). It'd be even better if we had an engineer around, but...
Definitely! I'm interested in hearing these stories others have to share! Should be even better than if we had an unlimited supply of movies, or something.

I have some knowledge, and I've been reading up on spaceships. Not the same as someone who might have years of experience with spaceships, but it's something. I think I'm starting to get the gist of it.
[ And Bruce's always been exceptionally bright. He won't say that, of course, he was never the kind to brag - that's more Tony's thing - but he's confident in his own skills. Confident enough to know that he won't screw it up even more, at least. ]
I wonder if there are any in the library. But even if there are, it's probably not a good idea to waste energy watching them. Best to stick to books and conversation for now.

[ If Bruce has been doing some reading and there're other people who've been in space before around, it might do something? Might be better than just spending all their time waiting to see if the problem resolves itself. Or see if the Captains start to actually give a damn about all of them... ]
Probably, yeah. But depending on how long we're in there, a movie night every once in a while might not be a terrible idea?
no subject
[ Won't stop Bruce from trying - and at least he's keeping busy, as well as distracting himself from the cold. ]
No, it probably wouldn't be. As long as people remember not to get frustrated if the movie stops halfway through, what with the power flickering on and off.

[ He's a little embarrassed now, the text coming quickly as he tries to clarify what he means. ]
True. But the people I've met so far are pretty even tempered, so? I'm sure they'd understand.
no subject
[ Of course no one in their right mind would think about that, much less so now. ]
You're right. And even if we can't do anything about it, at least we'll keep busy, as well as get to know the ship better. For those of us with the knowledge, it'll help in keeping her running smoothly, not to mention that it might come in handy if we ever get other issues in the future.
[ Not so much 'if' as 'when'. They are in space, problems are bound to pop up again eventually. ]
Well, no one will be punching the TV set, hopefully.
no subject
[ Cue embarrassment and a flush in his cheeks. ]
Right! I think it'd be a good idea all around, especially since, considering the way things have been going even since I've arrived, it seems likely there'll definitely be other issues in the future.
[ This ship seems to have issues abound to be perfectly honest. Sure, they'd had an issue or two on Wash's old ship, but never anything like this place. ]
Hopefully. That seems like an overreaction, for sure.
no subject
[ Good thing this is over text, so his embarrassment is safely hidden. Not that Bruce would judge. ]
Exactly. I mean, I don't want to be pessimistic here, but it's probably for the better that we're ready for the worst. Then maybe next time we'll have a better idea on what to do.
So what's your name?
no subject
[ But he still feels like he should have realized. ]
Definitely. I think there's benefit from being pessimistic in this situation. And I'd rather be prepared on some level for whatever happens next than not prepared at all.
I'm Agent Washington. But, people just call me Wash. I probably should have opened with that, sorry.
no subject
It's alright. And good to meet you, Wash. Well, just over text, but still.
no subject
It's still a way of meeting, sort of. But it's good to meet you too! We'll probably meet in person soon because I know I'll be headed down to the library.
