[ Everybody settling in alright? Or at least, as well as can be expected?

Everybody enjoy their cherry tasting legumes?

Adrien had intended to send this out as a text, but he was still getting used to the new TABs and upon realizing his mistake, couldn't be arsed to change it. The doctor usually looks harried, it might have something to do with his perpetual scowl, but he's looking particularly yanked through a knothole backwards at the moment.

All the way down to the fact that he's obviously showered and made an attempt to trim his beard, only to wind up cutting himself. Please ignore the tell tale little dots of paper stuck to his face at the moment. The blade was dull, okay?! ]

It dawned on me, as these things do when one is slicing their face open with a razor, a question that probably should have been asked a week or so ago.

Those of you in the crew, who are capable of, or posses magical abilities and of a temperament to help, would you have a spell or a ... [ here he gestures with his hands, he's not trying to be offensive, magic is just not something his world has ever been exposed too and he's only aware that it can be vary from person to person. ] ... that would purify water?

Thinking if that ability exists, we might give it a try on those purple streams and see if we can remove some of the nasty side-effects and restock our supplies.

I'm not going to complain too much about the side effects.

But I do want to know if it's the result of something organic or not, if you find out during your efforts to find someone who can purify it.

If no one can magically purify it, knowing what it is would go a long way.

Unfortunately I left my portable biochemical and genetic analysis unit at home.

[Kerrigan sounds amused.]

And I can't do anything with any genetic material it might have as I am right now.

If I had my full abilities back I could probably do some simple genetic manipulation, create a simple organism or two... but not in the time frame the water gives us.

I've never tried it without the support I'd have at an outpost or on a leviathan.

My guesses would be leviathan, outpost, genetic manipulation, and create.

But we're on the same side, so don't be too concerned.

With universes like mine and this one, it's a healthy way to live.

[She did say 'too concerned' rather than 'don't be concerned' after all. A little concern is a good idea.]

Based on the way it behaves, if I had to guess, I'd say it's an extreme metabolic enhancer to overcome the dampening effects this place has, and the negative effects are a result of that. If not, it could act as a flag to tell whatever is behind this to stop affecting us, and the lethargy is a side-effect.

It could also be an organism with an unusual life-cycle.

Either way it's too intentionally designed to be incidental.

[This is so much more Abathur's area instead of hers. Where is that Zerg when she could make use of him. On the other hand it's nice not to have to keep him from trying to sample the rest of the crew.]

The Zerg don't use equipment... all of our structures and technology are purely organic. I'm not a scientist; I don't understand the underlying processes well enough to explain;. My knowledge has always been more immediately practical. I wouldn't know what technology to use in my own universe, much less in this one.

[There's a long pause. She tries to think about this logically.]

Something to separate liquids based on density would be a good start, as would checking for levels of radioactivity. I don't suppose you know any biochemistry experts from universes with high technology levels?

[She's very interested in knowing what exactly this is beyond an ability to make it safe for drinking. Thinking on the long term if she ends up stuck in this place, being able to understand and replicate the effects of the water is an important side goal.]

[Right... that introduction thing.]

My name is Kerrigan, but if you look for the woman with purple bio-luminescence and extra sharp edges, that's me.

[She switches to video and shrugs.]
