[ When the video feed clicks on the images it displays are not of a person but rather a work space. If anyone is familiar with the labs of the MedBay, this looks to be one of those, the flat surface of which is covered by bits and bobs.
Adrien's voice comes across clearly on audio, even if he's being a rude shit and not looking at the device. ]
Oh for FU ... [ the expletive is choked off by an annoyed pounding, and frustrated growl. ] ... SAKE!
[ There is a pause, a deep breath and then, in a very deliberately calm tone. ]
I'm trying to execute a small project, for Medical, involving the MIDs.
I know what the final result should be and I believe I have the necessary raw materials but getting from point A to point B is proving beyond my technical knowledge.
Is there anyone available who could spare a couple of hours to help me work on this?
[ Before he tries to punch the bulkhead and ends up with a busted fist. ]

[ If they'd responded to his communication, they hadn't identified themselves as MID technicians, though it was possible someone had pipped up. ]
I have gotten some offers of help though, so hopefully something can be worked out.

How often do you pursue projects like this?

[ He answered honestly. ]
This is the first one I've done on this ship.

[Curious, rather than confrontational.]
Another ship, or...?

paranoidreserved when it came to personal information. ]There have been necessities along the length of my career. No more or less than any other medical professional navigating the changing terrain of deep space exploration.

[He understands that he's going to want to return to this subject someday, perhaps to compare notes on programming during deep space exploration.]
None of this is really new to you, then?

Oh, I think more of us should ask more questions, in a general sense. But to answer yours more specifically, it's because I suspect we may have a few commonalities. I worked on another ship like this one for several years before I was brought here -- deep space exploration. I ran its communications department for a while, which included work very similar to the sort of thing you're asking about today. But it wasn't a career I had pursued... I was only there as the result of another anomaly somewhat similar to the one that brought us here.
[The ships themselves are very different, and he begins to feel the same tense wariness that he always feels when he discusses the Tranquility, the same gut-level conviction that the best thing that could happen with the ship would be for it to be evacuated and destroyed.
On most days, the Moira is a very cheerful place in comparison.]

I keep finding myself surprised to learn about all these different anomalies, drawing people through to different dimensions.
What was your original career path?
