[ honestly, tretij doesn't care about the network. he doesn't care about much other than eli, but.. there are a few things he's interested in, and one of them happens to be people who are as different as he is. the network seems to be the easiest and least uncomfortable way to meet them, given how psychically overwhelmed he is on the moira right now-- and given his caution.

so eventually, after some trial-and-error: ] there are psychics here?

[ that's it, that's the post. tretij isn't wordy at the best of times, and he's still getting accustomed to the idea that he's even allowed to ask for things like this. ]

[ She gives a small smile up at him.

Yeah. It's been pretty exhausting keeping them all out.

Then, she raises her arms out at her side and slowly floats up into the air. She's a little new at it but she likes to think her practice has paid off.

I just got here, too. ]

[ she can project her thoughts. she can pick his up without him projecting them. while he'd technically known this already, it's another thing entirely to be faced with that realization like this. she's really.. like him.

he jerks in surprise as she begins to lift in the air, uncurling once more in sheer shock. behind his mask, his eyes are wide and stunned, and one small hand lifts almost before he's realized it, fingertips uncurling as if to touch her. he withdraws his hand again without contact, though, curling it in against his chest as he stares.

like me, he manages, wondering, mind fluttering against hers as if testing his footing. but.. he trails off, and invisible hands pluck curiously at her clothing, pushing at a lock of her hair, nudging at one of her hands. not a demon.

how had she managed to escape people like those in the institute? ]

[ Jean looks down at the nudging and hair moving, giggling some at it all, pleased at how alike they were. But then he says "demon" and her smile falls as she looks back over to him.

We're not "demons". We have abilities but that doesn't make us bad or monsters. No matter what anyone else has told you.

She remembers hearing some of Kurt's stories from his time before coming to America. Saw a few of them without meaning to. ]
