[There's one thing about the MIDs that Tommy can't stand and that's how they're strapped to his hand. Nobody, nobody, can take a good video unless they can extend their hands all the way out and bend them up at angles that aren't natural. Otherwise, the screens too close and tilted wrong. He tries to send a video first, and it's a messy shot of his face before he gives up and sends a text.]

A couple things. Would someone tell me why anyone thought being on a space ship is a good idea? There's nowhere to run.

[Which is the most important thing, obviously.]

Second, I'm looking for some recruits to form a team. Not just anybody. Anyone that's different and wants to stand up to the bad guys. If you're interested, let me know. Thanks.

It's Tommy, but I go by Speed, too.

[He gives him another once over, then nods, satisfied.]

You look tough. I think you'll be good for the team.

[wallride]

Ha! Good to know! You gotta keep me up to date on the formation, yeah?

[GUNFINGERS.]

You wanna try out the speed boost now we figured that out?

[madrush]

I will. Figure people keep responding to this, I'll know soon.

[He waves his MID around.]

Hell, yeah. Tell me what to do.

[wallride]

You start running, then I'll play the right jams. You'll feel it soon enough.

Tell me when you're ready.

[madrush]

[That all sounds pretty crazy but Tommy's not afraid to find out what'll happen.]

Sure, alright.

[When he starts running he blurs, making passes around the cargo bay again and again until he can get himself to slow down to a pace that makes him visible.]

[wallride]

[lúcio laughs when he sees the super speed. after seeing giant robots and everything else, he's still surprised.

anyway, he fires off his speed boost music and hopefully tommy will feel himself able to go almost twice as fast.]

Go, go!

[Tommy's used to moving fast. He's always been this way. But when Lúcio does his thing and Tommy shoots forward even faster, everything around him seems to freeze. He's gone fast enough that everything around him slows down, almost like it's not moving, but never like this.

He continues to move, faster and faster, ruffling Lúcio's hair once before coming back to a stop. Stumbling a bit to keep himself from crashing.]

Woah there, man!

[he's laughing. that was amazing.]

Looks like it worked a little too well, your legs alright?

[madrush]

They're great.

[He's laughing, too. Eyes wide and hands up in disbelief.]

I never knew I could go any faster. How'd you do that?

[wallride]

Sonic tech, my man. This here wub gun releases the soundwave that make you go faster.

[he holds it out to tommy.]

Makes it useful in a pinch, you know?
